... is fantastic!

It's thoughtful, punchy, gory, pulpy and adventurous, true to the source material but with a modern reflection on the serious issues of the author and culture which spawned his views, and even a little educational (the funeral of Emmett Till and the Tulsa race massacre weren't included in my history classes in the Canadian school system, so I appreciated the show bringing them to my attention).

I highly recommend it!

Criticisms have included that the series is "uneven" between episodes.  I'll give them that, but I don't consider it a criticism.  It's really a loving demonstration of appreciation to the media which inspired the whole series:  Pulp and sci-fi stories of the early 20th century.  It's batshit bonkers by the end of the series, but that's the POINT of it.  That's what stories were like from that particular genre.

I just finished the book and now desperately want to see how they made it into a show. What was it on for you? I'm UK so might not be so easily available.
