Why no love for Psionic Melee

I think pys real problem is its just unremarkable. It lacks the inherent utility of sets like dark and staff. The damage of super strength or energy. Or the Aoe of claws or spines.

 

The fact it feels like a worse, reskined version of fire or when its resisted you can feel it is just gravy.

I think it's a cool looking set and like watching it in action.  I've seen some really spiffy concept builds too.

 

But then when I actually use Mass Levitate and have to wait or run around on auto-follow waiting for the entire spawn to land so I can attack 'em some more, I get annoyed. That's totally personal preference though, and I'm glad you enjoy it.

 

On Boggle, I saw a different discussion where it is a huge Insight booster.

Hmmm, I guess that's on me. I only build with IOs and I forget that sometimes others do not (though I cannot figure out why). So, I never talk about builds with anything but IO sets. It's been so long since I built without them, I couldn't even tell you how it feels (other than masochistic).

This VERY much surprises me. I am stunned that Fire is so little resisted, considering it is a very common damage type. Though, it does explain why my Fire/Fire/Pyre tank is such a monster. Now I kind of want to make a Fire/Fire Dom.

I was too, but it also explains why Incinerate is such damaging attack (all fire I believe), and why I tend to like fire. The damage is probably average, but the low resists by mobs in the game make it a powerful set. I'll have to rethink my slotting again and see what else I can pull out of it.
