I've considered rolling one. I think it would be a solid combo.

 

I'd recommend getting your s/l or melee defense up to 30% or above. Then probably focus on maximizing hp and recharge. Throw a theft of essence into the heal to refill your blue bar.

 

Defense will make the armor alot tougher and buy you more time to fire off your big heal. Hp will give you more time - to fire off your big heal. Recharge will give you more opportunities to use your big heal and elec's awesome nuke.

 

I've played a psi/dark stalker fully io'd out on beta and he can run +4/8 missions np. Laughs at Arachnos. A brute would do even better.

I have an elec/dark brute, but she's still a baby (in the 20's I think), and I'm not great at making builds, so unfortunately I don't really have anything useful to add, just that it's a fun combo.

I've been looking for a melee toon to scratch the itch to bang. I've never given electric melee much of a shake.

 

This is the build I came up with on the fly. The survival numbers are pretty solid. I was able to get to the S/L and melee softcaps with S/L resist at 81% before any incarnates. F/C defense are comfortable at 39% with resist around 68%. Energy and toxic resists are lacking, but that's life in dark armor. There's only 45% recharge, which is definitely not perfect, but.... eh melee. I had a few spare slots so splurged on the 6 slot in murky cloud. 2 of those could easily be pulled for somewhere else (such as CoF for 6% more recharge). Dunno, maybe it's worth a look or helps.

 

Endurance is (as ever) dark's problem. 3.66/s recov with 2.07/s drain is.... acceptable. Cardiac and accolades bring that split up to 3.99 vs. 1.59 which is much closer to the range I'd like to live at. Over/under is that CoF only fires up at 45+ content.

Yes that it definitely a nice synergy. Elec Melee always feels a bit slow to develop for me, but I'm enjoying the combo. I think mine is in the mid-teens, i don't tend to slot IOs till the 20s which is when the combo will start picking up speed...

I wonder if slotting some of the attacks with end mod would be worth it? At least while leveling up?

I've been slowly leveling an elec melee/DA build and last night got around to slotting him up with 3 Performance Shifters +End in attacks and a Theft of Essence + End in Dark Regeneration. I'm really happy with the results. He's only lvl 22 but with all toggles running, plus tough and weave he doesn't have trouble with endurance. It's a little streaky since the procs don't fire off exactly when you want them, and the smaller the spawns the less likely they are to go off. Firing of Dark Regen with 5+ targets in range can actually give you a huge endurance boost, it's kind of nuts. But again, it's not consistent. I've had to eat blue inspirations every so often, but I'm really please with the results since the biggest issue with DA is the endurance burn. 

 

Now I just need to figure out how to slot this guy up. I'm thinking of pushing base defense and then energy/neg defense, and then S/L and Psi resists
