krj12 Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Not sure which release this happened, probably when they started changing the flight secondary powers, but... I really don't care for the new physics. Before, when coming to a stop, there was just a bit of drift at the end, now it's an immediate complete stop. Before, turning off flight resulted in an immediate drop, now there's a 1 to 2 second delay. The old drift made it feel more natural... now it feels very stiff and mechanical. I used to enjoy flying around the city just for the fun of flight - not anymore. Please revert the physics.
Greycat Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 I just checked both Mystic Flight and plain old Fly. Both still have the drift. The only time Fly does *not* drift at the end is if you have Hover running at the same time. In that case, it will just stop instantly. 3 Kheldian Lore and Backstory Guide 2.0: HC edition Out to EAT : A look at Epic ATs - what is, could have been, and never was Want 20 merits? Coyotedancer Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 How well is your flight power enhanced? I don't know for certain if it's still the case now, but back in the day the drift effect seemed to taper off a lot the higher your level and the better enhanced the Fly power was. I have vague memories of testing it on Palrah and Ty, my winged tank siblings, with a tiled floor in a base. ("So, just HOW MUCH driftier *is* lower-level and less-enhanced Ty's flight than her big brother's? One tile more drift? Two? Holy smoke... Three tiles." It was a non-trivial difference. 😆) Taker of screenshots. Player of creepy Oranbegans and Rularuu bird-things. Kai's Diary: The Scrapbook of a Sorcerer's Apprentice
krj12 Posted July 11, 2021 Author Posted July 11, 2021 Just checked.... it appears to be "Evasive Manuevers" that is the culprit. Toggling that off restores the old physics. Would be nice if I could that could be toggled without losing the normal feel of Fly.
Greycat Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Well, Evasive Maneuvers gives "+Flight Control," so eliminating drifting and such sounds like just what it's supposed to do. 3 Kheldian Lore and Backstory Guide 2.0: HC edition Out to EAT : A look at Epic ATs - what is, could have been, and never was Want 20 merits? Sunsette Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Flight Control is the primary benefit of evasive maneuvers -- you can just not take the power if you don't want that. Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting!
