Claws/Stone Scrapper

I've been working on this one for a few days now. New Mids is up, so I was able to condense the /stone brute and /claws scrapper into one and quit doing the math by hand. I'm mostly comfortable with where she is, got 2 slots left to work around. I welcome any input here. I may end up putting the 3 piece of the ATO from Follow-up into Strike to use the two slots, or a couple Imperv. Armor 6% psi res. End recovery may seem like overkill but I don't plan on taking any end recovery/cost incarnates. Thanks to everyone whol helped in the Performance Shifter thread!

50-51 all defense except f/c (40%), 45% s/l res, 68% f/c, 75% toxic, 20% on e/n/p. Using barrier to hit incarnate softcap on most defenses, and a bit more res. Musculature for more damage and a bit more end recovery.

The new Mids is out though you might need to download it from the site instead of the auto updated. It seems currently bugged in a few ways though so perhaps hold off.

I confess I've been tempted by this combo.... but no agro aura... I've played Stalkers before and it was the deal breaker so I know it will be for me.

But the combo sounds good.

Looking at the build now you do sacrifice a bit more than I am comfy with. I'd really throw all those 'chance for heal' procs into Rooted or Earth's Embrace. You have two 1.5% S/L resists past the limit of 5 so change for something else, perhaps LotG for regen instead. I'd throw a FF proc into Shockwave to help Hasten too.

You seem a bit worried about F/C defenses and resists. Before Aeon I would say it's not really something to worry about but nowadays I don't know if fire or cold are important for that specific TF. Otherwise I'd also throw a FF proc into Focus.

Hey thanks, I didn't even catch the extra 1.5 s/l over. I'll swap those out for the regen for sure. Not sure why I didn't add the FF procs to begin with, I usually do in powers that accept them. But definitely going into Shockwave, maybe Focus. Thanks a bunch.

With melee builds I'm always trying to shore up resistance/defense holes, hence the f/c. If I could have gotten more e/n resistance without severely altering it I would have too lol, still eyeballing a little more psi but it's not super common end game. Just a preference of mine if I can.

I don't think I can add the chance for heal procs into Rooted or Earth's can I? They are end procs unless I'm missing something.

This is with the new version of Mids, I will check to make sure it didn't update yet again after I downloaded.

Not add them, but swap them for something. Preventive Medicine in Rooted would give 2.5% S/L. Can be done in Earth's Embrace as well. Or just try to give the full Preventive Medicine in Rooted and five Panaceia in Earth's Embrace.

Playing my Claws/Stone has me rethinking the build a bit.  The change to Earths' Embrace makes it so easy to be at the HP cap, i am not sure I want/need Hasten. And I'd probably get more mileage from S/L resistances from Red Fortunes instead of +HP from LotG.

I do notice a bit of an endurance usage issue, so maybe updating the slotting in Crystal Armor would help me out.

This is roughly what I have in game currently.

Hmm yeah, yours has me rethinking some things as well. I should really see about that fourth aegis slot in my build, maybe 5 slot Earths Embrace or Rooted for the bonuses. I think I'll tinker around with Mids tonight and see what I can do.

How is it sans Eviscerate? I see a lot of builds that don't take it, and I'm slowly getting why. I don't use it very often, not with enough recharge that the other two aoes seem to be up every time I hit follow-up.

My Claws AoE attack is Follow Up - Spin - Shockwave.  Make sure you have a KB to KD IO in Shockwave.  In most cases I feel that's easier than slightly adjusting to make Evis hit the most mobs.

I can see taking it when leveling and until you can slot up Shockwave.  But even then, with a damage aura, I'd skip it myself.

That's what I use now yeah, rarely if ever actually use Eviscerate. That's 5 more slots to work with. Done.

Here's the new build, at 47 and working toward 50. First time I have ever used a 5 piece of the universal damage, but why not? Was able to swap out the E/N defs on Mud Pots slotting for a 5 piece of the purple (may go 6 when I see final end). I did drop the PT Heal as well from the build, used them to 6 slot rooted with Preventative like Sovera suggested. Also took Geode which I don't plan to use really but wth right? I like this a lot more, most values stayed the same with a bit more recharge, s/l res, and maybe a 30% regen loss. And I have noticed not a single need for eviscerate at all. Hella fun, and only gonna get better with more damage from incarnates. Thanks for the help!

Swapped out Mud Pots slotting for the new -slow set, and liking that change a lot. Also swapped out one slot on Focus for the ff+recharge. Been messing around with a bit and reorganized my main attack bar Followup, aoes, singles; then another by followup, singles, aoes and made macros on 0 to swap them. I really like that so far, can easily switch when I'm focusing an AV vs groups.

Here's my build so far.  I would like to get a little more recharge so I can go Follow-Up > Focus > Slash > Repeat.   Though, I personally still like Eviserate's animation 🙂

I know.  I know.

I did get a 4:01 Pylon Time with tier 3 Hybrid.  And the gap in the Follow-Up > Slash > Focus > Repeat.  However, I did replace the damage proc in Focus with the +Recharge Proc.

Took some notes on @subbacultchas 's slotting.  Replacing Positron's Blast with Overwhelming Force.  Losing on 2 DMG Procs that I had, but gaining more defense than I had 🙂

Softcapped S/L/E/N Defense.  Contemplating changing the slotting in Mudpots from 5 slotting Ice Mistral to 5 slotting Superior Avalanche.  More Slow Resist, more F/C Resist (would be 72% with Reactive Defense to hit the 75% when low on HP) and even more S/L Defense.

Easy to get the recharge for Follow-Up > Slash > Focus > Eviscerate > Repeat  Which seems to do as good as if not better ST DPS than losing Eviscerate, but I can understand if people don't care for the slower flip in there (I still like the animation :p)

Took some notes on @subbacultchas 's slotting.  Replacing Positron's Blast with Overwhelming Force.  Losing on 2 DMG Procs that I had, but gaining more defense than I had 🙂

 Gorgeous build

really really nice, looks unbelievably solid

I booted up in mids and made my own minor "tweaks" using yuors as a starting point:

  • Pumped more E/N res at the cost of some F/C (which is already really high)
  • Dropped Evicerate (not sure I can run FU>Focus>Slash as ST rotation without hasten ... gona try in Test Server now
  • Slightly better end managment and +rec (because just looking at it on paper i have a feeling this thing gona be thirsty)

I moved the Preventative medice + absorb proc to Health rather than EE since i feel like it can proc liek 3 times PPM a min in theory right? rather the guarnteed once every 45 seconds ... in my mind this is better but the math may say otherwise.

Really excited to see how this thing plays becuase on paper ... im loving what im seeing

So ive been testing the Claws/Stone build on Beta - not extenisvly but from what little ive seen, consider me impressed

its Stronk. Very very stronk, and oh boy does this build have some potential. Just look at those numbers in mids

Its no secret that Claws/ is a monster on scrappers, and /Stone just seems too good to be true. It has a bit of everything ... *whispers it may actually be slightly too strong*
But yeah from what ive seen im impressed.

Notes:

  • Build needs more recharge. For me personally i would like the gapless best ST and AoE rotation as an option. So i think dropping assault in favour of hasten + finding a slot could be the solution

  • Mud Pots: always nice to have a damage aura, i noticed it for sure but the radius seems small + i didnt notice the slow at all. I think the 5 slots dedicated to the new Ice Mistral set is a waste - probably better off salvaging some slots here and spreading potentially - maybe just some end red and a purple proc and call it a day (also no taunt component ... i would REALLY like to see either [A] all scrapper taunt aura removed /or/ give the same small taunt to all scrappers /end rant)

DDR: Not a negative against /Stone, since every single set in the game that isnt /SR can fall victim to it. But on an ITF solo run i was quickly humbled by how fast Def can be stripped away when it all goes wrong. Its a shame ... but honestly if this set had /SR levels of DDR nobody would ever play anything else every again
Geode: WTF is this power, im not sure I see the point of it? Gets snapped almost instantly when i used it when i needed it (see earlier mention of ITF) ... idk, Hibernate is most certainly is not

But i think /Stone is great, and Claws/Stone is a great combo, looking forward to seeing what people can come up with build wise - 100% keeping my eyes on this thread 👀

Preventive Medecine is global, it will proc anywhere and does not require for a skill to be used for it to go off, and that change kills 8.5% recharge anyway.

Shockwave not having a FF proc is sad 😛

Kimet's unique has no point. Every attack is already at 140% minimum to 170% chance of hitting +3.

No Hasten, but taking Assault on a Scrapper, an endurance heavy build, is dubious.

Geode hardcaps recovery so there is no point in slotting endurance there.

Why slot Aegis with 7.5% movement speed and 3% defense against F/C when you can slot Titaniums with E/N resistance and HP?

There are still improvements that can be made, but though the numbers are about the same with a bit more E/N the powers themselves are better slotted like this.

I like the Preventive Medicine Proc with the rest of the set, for the +8.75% Recharge the 6th slot set bonus gives.

I switched out Ice Mistral Set for 5 slots of Superior Avalanche myself.

I've made some adjustments to my build since I last posted it too, still iffy on whether I want to keep the Ice Mistral in Mud Pots as yall are. It seems like a solid idea in theory, doesn't really make a difference in reality though. I did swap follow-up over to the six piece ato, which is where it should have been. Just wish there was a 7th slot for the gaussian proc haha.  I'm on the fence with changing out Aegis for Titaniums, but I can understand the suggestion.

I still enjoy this build a lot, and happy to see others getting some mileage out of it.

I know for my build, Aegis was chosen over Titanium, purely for the Psi Resist.  I did look back and forth between Aegis and Titanium.

I put Kismet in Combat Jumping, because I didn't take Tactics, and I figure it'll also be handy for when exemping down, like Positron TFs.

Geode does hardcap recovery, but it also takes you out of the fight, I like relying on it for when I did to regain health myself.

HOWEVER...you made me realize that Shockwave does as much single target damage as Eviscerate if not more, so I could substitute Eviscerate for Shockwave.  And still keep Follow-Up recharging under 4 seconds to go Follow-Up > Slash > Focus > Shockwave > Repeat which should be the same or better DPS that I was doing...likely bit better since Follow-Up buff is up longer.
