I recently posted my all to long guide to Fire/Storm with a extreme tilt on causing the enemies to be under the effect of Knockdown.This is a play on that without the obvious /Storm compliment that comes with trying too hard to Knock everything down. 

 

So this new Fire/Kin is utilizing a Power Pool ability that is not, in my experience past or present, used very much. We are slotting in Whirlwind, with the wonderful Force Feedback Proc and Sudden Acceleration KB to KD.  This will cause us to have a Hurricane like Aura, without the repel effect and when we stand in our own Bonfire we will only add to the effects already happening there. 

 

Our normal engage will be a Fire Cages, Bonfire, jump in and let Hot Feet do it's thing.  We will Transference and Fulcrum Shift on cooldown and keep applying Fire Cages and Bonfire.

 

Again, we are heavy on toggles, Hot Feet, Super Speed, Whirlwind, Tactics, Combat Jumping, Tough, Temp Invulnerability and Weave.  And we are going to mitigate the End cost with Conserve Power.  With good Siphon Speed and Perma Haste, Conserve Power is up 90 of every 150 seconds (Better if you take into the spotty FF Proc).

Sure, it's a one-trick pony, but WHAT A TRICK!  I wanna go try it now.

 

However, I saw a little room for improvement.  Compare the two builds: nearly identical capabilities, but these tweaks give you improved defense, resistance, and status at the cost of very slightly higher end drain with improved end generation to compensate.  I personally wouldn't quite slot this way because I rarely find endurance a problem due to Transference, but Whirlwind is an end hog for sure!

 

I find Pine's lack of the new knockback set... disturbing. Empty slots bug me, but we all know what they are...

Just a few things (I actually put Fire/Kin to the side while I work on my Fire/Dark), but I moved Overwhelming Force to Imps and put sudden acc in bonfire.  Also, I have never had FS miss, I believe Acc IOs are unneeded in it.

 

Oh... annnnnnd... in Stamina, if you 3 slot, id do Chance for End from Perf Shift and 2 Eff Adapt or just do 3 Perf Shift IOs. It is only a 3% loss, but the 2 piece Perf Shift bonus is travel and not as useful as the 2 Eff Adapt or the 3 Perf Shift. One more slot here and 4 slotting Perf Shift might actually be best. (I'd lose the Chance for Absorb in Health.)

Gotcha. Fair changes. I was trying to keep the theme you'd established while improving defense & resistance, so if those weren't intentional it's a good move.

If you like knockdown, it's worth noting kinetics has a native power for that: Repel. Slap your KB->KD IO in it and you've got your KD aura for one power pick, with a radius of 9 feet too. Whirlwind is only 7 feet, if Mids is to be believed (haven't played with whirlwind much so I don't know how the two *truly* compare to each other).

I fine the cost of Repel to be a bit too expensive with the KB to KD proc because things just keep bouncing.  Whirlwind is just hilarious to watch.  And it is procs FF +Rech a good bit.
