An advertisement catches your eye. It looks like a new restaurant and bar is opening along the Talos waterfront this weekend. The grand opening will feature live music.

Hello fellow RPers! I'm @TheBizi and I built the above SG base to look like a classy restaurant and would like to share it with the larger RP community. I know a lot of us would like some alternatives to the Pocket D, and I hope to deliver on that with the Talos Keys Lounge. I would feel honored if the Everlasting RP community used this base on a regular basis, coming and going to socialize and to use the setting for your RP needs. I do plan on expanding the base to include a beach and additional boardwalk attractions!

I'll be hanging out in the base ICly as my character Firesong Seraph on June 8th, 8pm EST (0:00am UTC), and using the broadcast channel for her IC singing. I hope you join me, socialize with friends here, and enjoy the lyrics Firesong sings for you!

 

I'm hosting this particular event in hopes of getting the word out about the base and hopefully start a community tradition of building, sharing, and using SG bases as RP space on Everlasting. Thanks for your interest, and good hunting heroes and villains!

“Ooh Eric have you seen this? There is a new restaurant and bar opening in Talos this weekend.  The place looks amazing.  We should go.”

 

Eric Mitchell peared over the top of his newspaper with his glowing white eyes to look over to his new girlfriend.  Sheryl, a young woman half his age, was a singer in a manufactured pop group called Chicks a’Noisy.  She had been busy straightening her hair whilst rifling through the pile of mail and leaflets left on one of the apartment’s side tables when she had noticed the flyer.  Eric glanced at the flyer from where he sat before turning back to his newspaper.

 

“I don’t know luv.  I’m pretty busy this weekend.”

 

Sheryl walked over and pulled his newspaper down so she could scowl in his face.

 

“You’re not working so I guess this is one of those Britanic things again.  There is like a million other superheroes in this city y’know!  It would’nt hurt for you to take a night off.  Anyway an opening like this is going to have press and photographers.  It will be good publicity for me.”

 

Thinking he had himself an ‘out’, Britanic’s eyes widened.

 

“You’re right luv.  Although maybe you are better off going with the rest of the band.”

 

“Oh no Mr. This weekend is all about me.  Sheryl needs some limelight and having a successful businessman and part-time superhero escorting me is going to do wonders for my public image.”

 

Sheryl shot off towards the bedroom muttering something about ‘what to wear’ while Britanic sighed before muttering to himself.

 

“Ah well, best let her have her fifteen minutes of fame.  I’m pretty sure that’s the bloody stupid selfish attitude that causes most bands to fall apart.”

((@TheBizi thanks for the offer but Sheryl and Chicks a’Noisy are just background npcs inspired by a throwaway rp comment made in Pocket D 8 or 9 years ago.  My main Big Game is my only character who sings, but seeing as his reportoire consists exclusively of Tight Fit’s ‘the Lion Sleeps Tonight’ you really don’t want that (Yes I really used to have a tray of macros set up for this as various former members of EVIL, the Pact, and the Corporation can attest to).  Anyway my wierdness aside I am sure other players have singer characters who might take you up on the offer.))

Many thanks to @TheBizi for putting this on.  The Keys is a fantastic location, and I really appreciate the effort that was put in to make this thing a reality--both in terms of the physical location and the 'atmosphere' provided by the live entertainment.

I went there just today and man I was completely gobsmacked at how good it was. Not just in the design of the club and all it's nooks and crannies, the fact there's a real skybox with water and boats but the MUSIC! The music was really good and it played everywhere, I'm not even sure how you managed to do it but it's almost as good as a dev-created zone!

 

I'll definitely have to RP there some time, although unlike Pocket D I doubt I'm going to find as many randoms...

DJ Chronos dropped in yesterday to have a peek (I also popped in briefly on one of my other characters over the weekend to show off how wild player built bases can get, showed him Takamoto Industries' office, Club Valhalla, and then as the piece de resistance the Talos Keys Lounge). Crazy good build. I'm still not sure how you got music playing, because the command claims to work for me but I don't get (or at least don't hear, and my music channel is up enough because I heard your music) any music in Valhalla and I've tried multiple times.
