Thinking about an Ice/Regen build

I do not have a brute and right now the only concept I have that would be a brute is a SS/Rad, but the /rad graphics annoy me,

 

I have been reading up like I am sure many have on regen and thought I would give it a shot. This is what I have come up with on the first pass.

I made a few tweaks to fix the lack of hasten and add a few KD procs to help with soft control. I will worry about power order once I decide if I am going ahead with this.

What made you pick Ice?

For the slows, ice patch, -recharge all means less incoming damage to regen. Its best attack is also a hold along with the ability to proc out frozen Aura into a decent AoE attack. In theory at least. I have an ice/ice blaster, but never did an ice melee character.

OK, I have done some testing. I ran a few radio missions against Council, CoT and CoS at 4/8. The council were like shooting fish in a barrel if you took the fish out first and watched them flop around on the ground while shooting. The CoS did try to have its way with my blue bar when they fell, but other than that was about the same as the Council.

 

The CoT on the other hand showed me that what I had thought was right. I really need Focused Accuracy. They also managed to turn my regen into the red.

 

I never had to use MoG or IH. I clicked DP when I noticed it up and rarely had to hit Reconstruction. Things would probably been easier if I had prioritized my target, but I went in and just mashed buttons letting the game target for me so I could watch my bars closer.

 

I moved a few enhancements around for pre FA and now have v3 of the build.

That last slot would either be build up or physical perfection.

MoG can also counter end issues or sapping with +Recovery.

 

As @Koopak pointed out, maybe swap the Fast Healing and Reconstruction slotting.

As you note, regen pairs very well with soft controls.  But knockdown works on enemies in melee range and not those taking potshots at you from afar.  Even though regen lives and dies by +recharge, I'd consider 6 slotting Numina's in Fast Healing to help out a bit with ranged defense.
