Would like to be able to retain 2.5% defense on Evasive Maneuvers when attacking. Mostly as a QoL change so it does what Combat Jumping does when on the ground. CJ t1, EM t4.

That's not QoL, it's balance.  Quality of life means "does not meaningfully affect combat balance, just makes the user experience a bit nicer."

And we should not make it easier to build defense.

Hover

Evasive maneuver is a speed and flight buff, not a defensive buff.  Its a bonus to avoid getting hitting when doing nothing but flying, heal or attack it drops.

T1 Leaping - Combat Jumping.

T1 Flight - Hover.

EvM is not about defense, it is about flight speed and physics defying stopping/turning ability. That it is t4 is a result of its utility and has no bearing on the defense component which I would argue was a concession to grant it the ability to slot defense sets anyway.

You can also look at it through logic. To take evasive maneuvers is to focus on evasion, not attacking. So from this stand point, I agree that Evasive maneuvers should not retain any defense bonuses if you attack or interact with an object. (The ability also pretty well explains this itself, so there is that too.)
