So, workin on a psi/shield brute and runnin into issues. 

1. I apparently suck at building a durable as I can get to 68 s/l and positionals are sittin at 61M/43R/41AOE.

2. When I try to find any actual builds they seem to be a mythical beast lost in a forgotten forest on an unknown land. 

 

As such, I turn to you all for some assistance.  I am enjoying him thus far but need help with a good durable build.  Anyone have a good build I can peak at and work off of?

Honestly it sounds like you're pretty close defensively. Perhaps adjust a set giving you melee to ranged or aoe to balance them out a bit more. The 68% res can be probably increased a bit, although it's a balancing act as you also could lean into the HP side of it as well. I always like to have reasonably high recharge though on my SD toons for Shield Charge.

 

One thing to take into consideration as well is, If memory serves correct, because shield charge is a pseudo pet it doesn't scale with fury. That said it still hits like a truck and is very useful on Brutes.

Here is one I made a while ago.

I took Medicine Pool because of the lack of heals.

Also took Spring Attack for the double stomp effect with Shield Charge.

Its Perma Hasten with 184% recharge.

I have to mention the Alpha Incarnate does boost the defense/recharge and end mod.

Shieldwall +5 resist all and Reactive Defense: Scaling Resist (3% passive, caps at 10% the lower your health). Basically 8% to 15% with low health.  Slot them, shift others around.

 

On my savage/shield scrapper, use One with the Shield to cap out resists

Smash/Lethal 54.79  - 75%

Fire/cold 43.12 - 58.48%

Energy/Neg 29.62 - 48.48%

Psi 9.5 - 0

Toxic 26.62 - 41.98

 One with the Shield is by far one of the most mild of penalties with it crashes, just 75% endurance reduction but a End Rec IO its almost always full before it crashes so its barely noticeable.

So, i played around a lil bit more, using some of the suggestions thus far and this is what I have.

also swapped in One with the Shield, although I am not a fan of crashing powers,  Have also thought of making it assault instead...already end heavy so in for penny in for pound thought process...although cardiac incarnate would help mitigate that issue somewhat for the higher end ccontent.

SO, I pulled for an Masr last night and it went well enough I suppose, given he's a freshly minted 50.  I still ended up eating Good Lucks to suppliment but still ended up kissing dirt a couple times.  although, that really was more due to me not paying attention.


His alpha I have started down the path of Cardiac for the endurance reduction and the increased resistance.   iirc (at work atm) he was sittin at a 77 S/L with Cardiac and all other defenses runnin.  psi was  a bit rough, but ate a couple Dramatic Improvements for those times I needed to which really wasnt all that often.  
Obviously, will go the route of Barrier to up that defense, if temporarily.  


otherwise, only changes I am looking at now are ditching Concentrate for either Shield Charge (as an Oh #$%^!! button), or Assault.  I already have to constantly refresh Active Defense (which I despise but am willing to deal with since I kinda have to).  Between it, Barrier and eventually the Hybrid I dont need/want anymore powers that require constant refreshing to have em run at top speed.  This says nothing about the time for the animation times for all those (especially Active Defense) to cycle through.   


Upside of this whole thing, I really am enjoying him.  Given the way I have em now, plenty of AOE to get badguys attention and some decent single target striking ability as well.
