Hami builds

Seeing if anyone has any builds suited for a hami only toon. Leaning towards a PB or WS but open to something else...?!

Do you need to have a Hami-only toon?  I mean, seems like most toons good at this could be good for most things.

The mitos or the buds?  Assuming mitos.

 

Honestly the only "special" thing a character needs is flight, and you don't even have to respec for that - grab a jetpack.

 

If you're looking for someone who can switch-hit between the melee, range and control teams, I'd suggest a blaster or dominator. For instance, my elec/elec/fire blaster has range (duh,) melee in the secondary (enough attacks to keep going,) and between tesla cage and the fire APP, two holds to cycle through. Only thing she's not doing is taunting.

Elec/Plants Blaster. Build for high HP.

You get 2 single target holds to help with greens. You get 2 melee attacks for yellows, and multiple ranged blasts for blues. You also get a toggle Debuff you can apply on Hami that reduces damage/tohit/regen.

I think a toon with the power to efficiently enter a quickly filling zone is the most important thing.  And you might as well take flight.

I do not have a Hami specific build for my Tri-Form Peace Bringer and hami on it regularly.

With it I can either be on melee or range teams.

Why not a Mind Controller/Dominator? All of Mind's attacks are psionic type only and don't have positional flags so they're useful against both blue and yellow mitos and you bring along mez to help with the green mitos.

That's viable as well.

I don't see a point for a 'hami only' character.  Pretty much every character is useful at a raid.

 

If you want to be extra useful, build a character that can fill two or more roles.  For example, a recent raid was low on tanks so I switched to my WP/ice tank.  I flew around taunting the yellow mitos off the melee team, then moved on to assist with the green mitos using my two single-target holds (one in Ice Melee and one in Arctic Mastery).

If you are interested in tanking the big blob (which you have mentioned you aren't), aim for Lobster and not Lightform. The HP pool and periodic heal are the only things that really matter in that role.

 

If you want to melee, do NOT use Lobster form (you can't fly on your own or use a jetpack).

 

If you want to pew pew, any build should work fine. If you want some independence wrt not getting mezed, pick up Rune of Protection from the Sorcery pool. 

 

In general, Incarnates can really help. The Diamagnetic (regen debuff) or Degenerative (max HP debuff) are helpful. And of course your Lore pet.

 

As for other AT types:

• I really like my Ice/Poison/Mu Corruptor for stacking single target holds and debuffs. I can roll out four single target holds and we chew through Mending mitos.
• I also enjoy my Pain/Water Defender. It can MT heal and provide a group augment via World of Pain
• And for higher tier debuffs (vs any mito or the big blob) is a Radiation/Beam Rifle Defender that specializes in -Regen

So, somehow on my tanks, brutes and scrappers, I created builds where I don't need to use EOEs, and I still remain alive when fighting Hami.
