Fire/Stone/Fire

You all helped me in this section have helped me with some of my heroes to get to where they need to be, so this time I need help with this one. I have a fire(resist) Stone(melee), Fire ( Power pool) set and I am still too squishy. Any advice to make it no so squishy

Here's my own Fire/Axe/Fire to give you some ideas.  You likely could skip some of what I took, to make it work for you and part of what I took was for concept reasons.  If I wasn't Axe, I likely would've tried to fit in some of the Fire Epic Attacks and not rely on Incarnate for a Fire Blast.

Fire will never be as durable as other primaries, but you can do a lot to make it a lot "less squishy".

 

If you would post your build, many will make suggestions on improvements (like have you slotted the ATOs and, if so, in what powers).  Having said that:

-Fire needs to kill more quickly than other tanks.  Dead foes can't hit you back.

-Stone Melee has a whole lot of mitigation.  Foes on their arse can't hit you back.

-Incarnates can close holes in Defense or Resistance (if you're 50+).  You can also get DDR, which fire tanks desperately need.

 

I don't have a Fire/Stone, but @Sovera is the fire tank guru, so a quick search might glean more.  My only Fire tank is Fire/MA (because of the Def. adds of Storm Kick - Sovera's Brunker build, basically).  I run a ridiculously durable Ice/Stone tank, with lots of mitigation from stone melee, so if you want either of those builds for comparison, I'll post or send 'em to you.

As Pulverizer (sorry man, I can't make myself misspell the name :D) said I've a Fire Armor/Stone Tank in my signature. Fire is pretty sturdy though it mainly works on kill first instead of 'go in and AFK in the middle of things' like most tanks like to brag about.

 

It was not the combo I liked the most (though I loved the lava skins in Stone since it made the combo so visually thematic) but it has built in CC and good sources for Force Feedback procs which further help with survival.

LOL, no worries.  By the time I made PLV (what @Warboss and everyone calls me on Tanker Tuesdays) on Live, "Pulverizer" was already taken.  By the time I found Homecoming (Feb. 2020), most of my other names were also taken, so I stuck with the license plate theme, for the most part.

Been playing a few stone melee toons lately and i'm convinced fault is the least accurate attack in the game if only it wasn't so much fun at keeping the mobs flip flopping. And its stackable with tremor. And it slots ff procs. I hate kb so my melee toons go overboard i aim for 12 points minimal which means leaving other powers unslotted. And i don't use fly on melee toons. Fitting in fire isn't easy, you will leave yourself struggling with the blue bar. I don't have a fire/stone tank but i do have a brute and i know the tanker will be better purely because of the AT sets so i may get around to it one day. The tanker will probably out damage it too if you swap stuff around, tanks can throw in way more damage procs without sacrificing what the brute does. This doesn't have many it would probably need a t4 barrier.
