I've searched the forums as a whole, and unable to locate one.  All games develop a series of abbreviations that become common to the player base, but those who have not played as much are lost to the meaning.

I propose that either in Help and Support, or perhaps Guides a sticky post be created with a list of the common abbreviations for CoH.  As an example, reading the Marketplace forum, mentions of AE and SO (Single Origin, IIRC) and so forth can be confusing if you don't know what they stand for.

It could start here, and I would be willing to do so, but I did not play much in retail, and only have a few hours a week to play now, so I've not gotten acclimated to the terms that are flying around. :)

Suggestions?  I posted here rather than in either of the other two forums thinking it would garner a bit more visibility.

I won't be listing the abbreviations for all the zones in the game here, someone else can do that, I'm in a rush to get ready to head out for the weekend, just wanted to lend a hand.

AE = Architect Entertainment, the player-created mission hub (and formerly the best or second-best way to level up quick, now it's just good for interesting story missions and Influence/Infamy farms)

AH = Auction House, sometimes also WW for Wentworths

AP = Atlas Park

BAB/BaB/BaBs = Back Alley Brawler, formerly Galaxy City's trainer/signature hero before Galaxy became a tutorial zone and BaBs was moved to a corner of AP

DFB = Death From Below, currently the best way to level quickly pre-level 20, also a source of any-level (roughly the level you are at the time) Single Origin enhancements, which either provide a solid boost to a power's stats or a significant (especially early-game) amount of Influence/Infamy, and a temp-power that boosts either (choice) your Damage, Accuracy, Defense (or Resistance? Don't recall), or Recovery, which lasts a full week of logged-in time or until level 22, whichever comes first

DiB = Drowning in Blood, a DFB replacement from level 15 up

DO = Dual Origin enhancements, which provide twice the boost of equivalent-level Training Origin enhancements

GC = Galaxy City, formerly the alternate starting zone after finishing/skipping the tutorial, currently a shared tutorial between Heroes and Villains, where the choices you make during the tutorial, instead of just clicking a button on a menu, determine which side you're on

HO/Hami-O's = Hamidon Origin enhancements, obtained by fighting the raid boss Hamidon in the Hive (heroes) or the Abyss (villains) (Also SHOs/SHOes, or Synthetic Hamidon Origin enhancements, obtained from the Statesman and Lord Recluse Task Force/Strike Forces)

Inf = Influence or Infamy, depending if you're hero or villain. The currency of the game

IO = Invention Origin enhancements, which level with the player instead of expiring after 4 levels and being 'too high' when you're 4 levels below them

P2W = "Pay2Win". In most games it's a commentary on 'real money economy' and cash shops, in this one it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to that same commentary, because the P2W shop in CoH is 100% real-money-free, everything costs either nothing at all or various amounts of Inf ranging from 'hey that's pretty cheap' to 'exorbitant' (but if you farm AE or DFB/DiB, even the exorbitant prices can become 'hey that's pretty cheap' quickly)

PD = Pocket D, the neutral nightclub and RPers' retreat. Home to the earliest-accessible cosmetic surgeon (second floor of the Tiki Lounge on the villains' side, though heroes can go there as well), and Null the Gull (who can, among other things, send you to fan-made seasonal event zones at any time, and instantly switch you between Hero, Villain, Vigilante, and Rogue)

RWZ/RMT/MST = Rikti War Zone, Rikti Mothership Trial, MotherShip Trial. An endgame cross-faction co-op zone/trial where heroes and villains alike fight off the Rikti invasion

SO = Single Origin enhancements, which are twice as good as DOs/four times as good as Training Origins

TF/SF = Task Force (heroes)/Strike Force (villains)

TO = Training Origin enhancements, aka the ones you'll be using for the first part of the game unless you're like most people and run DFB and get the early-game SOs from that
