vet xp is back! yay!

 

i wonder about the possibility of a system of like, peer review or w/e for critters made with advanced power choices? i'd LOVE it if they could still be made to give rewards SOMEHOW instead of not at all.

 

edit: actually this seems like this would just mean a lot of work for devs and i doubt they'd want to do that... maybe some way to automate it then? but even that would be a lot of programming work! UGH! really wish there was a way to make it so that they could give rewards without hitting that reasonable fear about their rewards being borked for farmers- even if it's reasonable that it'd be exploited i don't agree that it'd be worth taking away rewards for these custom critters, just tryna work within the whole 'they won't get rewards because of this' framework to still get something without forcing them to just let farmers do what they don't want them to do i guess

Also I'll throw in that right now, the first arc I ever sat down to make is on indefinite hiatus because of the bug where NPCs vomit all of their speech text when the map loads and not when you approach them. Apart from the general pursuit of good craftsmanship and bugsmashing, those proximal chat bubbles are really helpful when trying to find the right spawn on big outdoor maps.

 

Just thought I'd mention that, while someone has their hand in AE at the moment... ☺️

LOL, yes.  THAT thing.  So annoying that I don't give anyone an initial speech anymore unless it's something I want "overheard".

stupid thought and i dont know how this would work but

can everything that isnt a famr be Devs choice then?

or a category for "not a farm" would require some more moderation or honesty of people but this could do it.

i dont want to go thru an almost impossible to beat AE mission and dont get any XP towards vet levels especially if its a really long one and i could get a 100 merits outside in the same time.

On a completely different subject, the Croatoa Winter map in AE has the same bug that certain Kallisti Wharf office maps had, with enemies randomly fading away when aggroed.

Drat.  I noted that after the first beta release.  Hadn't had a chance to recheck
