Dual Blades do they ..

DMG enhancements go well with it I hear.

Get ENOUGH recharge to run the chain you want. You don't need more.

I've got...DB experience.  WP, SR, BIO, ELA, ENA, and STN.

DB does do it all, but so do a lot of other primaries. DB has two weapons though, and I personally think that's a cool aesthetic.

Bio is the biggest DMG increase for the set. Stone is the same DMG on STATIONARY targets, but Stone doesn't have a taunt aura. Chasing runners is a HUGE DPS loss (chasing = zero DPS). ELA is the next biggest DPS gain in that group, but it doesn't have a taunt aura, but ELA is darn tough to kill. ENA is my personal favorite of the group. Yeah, it doesn't have a DMG boost like the other sets (I don't consider recharge a boost since you can fill this hole via other means) but it is hard to kill and has a taunt aura. Really easy to get to softcap with most damage types and have good recharge to have the attack chain you desire. You are pretty likely to have Incarnate-softcap in a team. Build for good slow/recharge resist? Tough build with really good DPS.

What helps DB the most? +Recharge? Or something else?

Thinking of pairing with EA or Stone

Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals doesn't require much total recharge, at all. The extreme recharge comes into play when you try to squeeze out BF -> Ablative -> Sweeping -> Ablative since Sweeping Strike's animation is pretty fast.

You can easily run BF -> Ablative -> Sweeping -> Nimble Slash or Power Slice, depending on which combos you want to run (Empower vs Sweep), with less recharge than the A -> S -> A.

Any of these options are still solid damage, even BF->AV is reasonable, and so you have a lot of options.

Love running this chain with the snipe swapped in for Ablative (snipe with build-up proc). This is the way.

What do You think of DB/Rad?

Both are great sets. I honestly don't know how it wouldn't be a good pairing.

Here's a hot take on the combo just doing straight-through setting (this is still crazy good DPS):

I'm new to DB, and I wanted to ask your opinions on what the good combos are.

I love knockdown, but I think there are easier ways to achieve it than Sweep.

Empower seems ok, until I realize that the incremental bonus from the combo is only an additional +12.5% damage and +3.3% to hit over the +37.5% and +10% you are going to get from Blinding Feint.

Weaken's debuff is AoE and lasts 20 seconds.  Seems legit.

Haven't gotten to Attack Vitals yet, but also seems legit.

Who run Bartertown?

I use two trays set up to go through some of the combos

Tray 1 - power slice - ablating strike -  vengeful slice - sweeping strike - Follow - (a high damage power or debuff; a p2w until better available, could be from powerset, and could be a pool power)
Combos :
Attack vitals :: ablating strike - vengeful slice - sweeping strike

Tray 2 - nimble slash - ablating strike - blinding feint - vengeful slice - follow - typhoons edge
Combos
Empower : nimble slash - ablating strike - blinding feint
Weaken : nimble slash - ablating strike - typhoons edge

The  other slots in the trays I put in; a respite macro, tray flip, fast travel, normal travel

I usually run though the sequence of each of them and repeat.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

Here's the real answer people hate...the answer is...that depends. If you goal is DPS? No combo. Just the BF-AS-SS-AS chain when your recharge is high enough. If you are doing a procced out build and DPS is your goal? Most likely you won't have enough recharge and the Empower combo actually becomes very worthwhile. NS-AS-BF-SS

Attack Vitals is a pretty hard hit on sustained DPS due to Vengeful Slice's long long longgggg animation. Cool attack, looks awesome doing a SHYROUKEN with a sword, but it's a DPS hit.

I won't even take Vengeful Slice on my DB characters.

Well shizzit Im running a DB/Rad and its not on your list here. I guess its not as good as these others you mentioned? Im finding Radiation Therapy/Ground Zero decent filled with Proc enhancements combined together but Im having to hit both skills to make it worth it. Thats ALOT of casting animation sadly.

DPS isn’t high on my list of concerns.  I’m not trying to solo GMs and taking down AVs isn’t too hard to slot for.

I’ll probably end up trying everything and respec out of anything that isn’t fun.

Dual Blades is a ton of fun because of all the sweet animations.  I take all the attacks, don't worry about super high recharge, and just click whatever attack is up. This way I can slot my attacks for +Def/Resist/Health bonuses and I don't get locked into clicking the same attacks over and over.

Everything dies fast enough that I'm happy.
