classic would be invul/SS...but ..that's normal supes with sparkly flight. MYSTIC needs magic!( DISCLAIMER: i despise super strength in this game)

 

so--magic  option 2: energy melee--nothing says "magic" better than glowing fists!  also a classic combo with INVUL

 

option 3 and my pick for a mystic superman DARK MELEE-- recolor to choice,every power looks or acts like a spell/spell effect- has awesome symmetry with INVUL as well.

HEY SS wheres your heal?..oh you don't have one,mine is right next to my END recovery..which you also don't have!( yeah yeah no foot stomp..)

 

add the sorcery pool for the mystic flight AND arcane bolt! instead of laser eyes and you also can use RUNE of PROTECTION!

--arcane bolt uses similar set bonuses as laser eye- ranged sets loses the -DEF but can add the FF proc--

 

lots of power slots huh?...skip the FIGHTING POOL on this build-- boxing/kick were place holders anyways--you can cap smash/lethal WITHOUT tough and rune is the same place holder for resist-- just make up the DEF lost with weave(doable)

 

which leaves your EPIC open to choice!( choice that will still need set bonuses if you are trying to cap DEF etc.)

I would probably take Rad Armor, just because it has a lot of spell-like powers, colored to taste (I'd just imagine that it was magic power, not radiation). For secondary, maybe Energy Melee for the glowies, or Kinetic Melee for the hand-waving spell gestures.

Shield Defense could be written off as held by a mystic being, magic could come from the shield itself in fact. Radiation, Electric, or Fiery Aura are all passable opportunities for a mystical resistance. Invulnerability is still likely the most appropriate for a "Superman" theme though, and then just change up the attack/melee side. I tend to agree that Energy Melee is probably the best choice, and definitely make sure the Sorcery Pool is in there. Fire, Ice, and Psi melee all have options for creating manifested weapon forms which could also be taken as a mystical concept too though, so consideration there as well. As for Epic, I'd lean on Leviathan maybe just for School and Spirit Shark abilities; they aren't the strongest necessarily but they do look the most magical.

Should be an interesting combination.

A kinetic melee tanker can comfortably skip their t9, Concentrated Strike, which will help reduce that feeling of slowness.  Better to rotate through your quick attacks while under Siphon Power than risk whiffing on a long ass CS animation

A 'superman' is too powerful to be properly replicated. Remove that and you have a 'mystical warrior'. Which in the comics is just a standard warrior but with floaty runes since they go around kicking and punching people.

 

I'd consider fire Melee for the flamey swords and Fire Breaths. Give yourself a cosmetic aura and no need to take Mystical Flight, but Mystical Flight does come with Arcane Bolt which looks suitably magic-y.

 

Mystical warrior could also be the above but with dual swords skinned to look magic-y.

 

Shazam is a dull mystical warrior since it's basically same as regular superman but once in a while shoots lightning. You get that with SS and Inv and Ion incarnate.
