Hey everyone, so I started working on an Ill/Rad troller last night, so far really enjoying it.  I am working on a build that has Perma AM and Perma Decoy army.  The build is currently quite expensive, which isn't a big deal.  But I am wondering if I went overboard with the recharge.  Hasten currently has a recharge time of 96s and I am wondering if that will make hasten stack for 24s.  If so, I have more than enough recharge already, and could possibly cut down a bit.  Anyone know exactly how much recharge is needed to maintain Perma AM and Perma Decoy Army?  Also, to the Ill/Rad trollers of this forum, am I suppose to be using the stacking Hasten to achieve Perma-Decoy army?  I wasn't sure if they stacked so I slotted assuming they don't, and achieved Perma Decoy Army without it.  But if I could save a few million influence but using stacking Hastens for 15-20s I think that would be better.  Currently with 10s of Overlapped AM, and 24s of Overlapping Hasten I think I may have too much recharge (If such a thing is possible for this build)

 

Expert Builders of the Forums, do you think I should go for this build as is and be a  +recharge monster?  Or am I going overboard and spending more money than necessary while also missing out on other helpful set bonuses?  Also the empty slot in Phantasm is where I plan on putting Sudden Acceleration KB to KD but I don't see it in Pines so I left it blank,

Superior Invis is overslotted. You don't need that 3.75% recharge with all the recharge you have. Hasten 3 slotted is overkill. That's 7 slots you can put elsewhere and your hasten is still at 106.7.

 

Hecatombs in boxing? You don't need all that recharge. Once you get PA and hasten perma concentrate on slotting the powers you use to take out the AVs and GMs.

Hasten cannot stack with itself... neither can Accelerate Metabolism (from the same source i.e. yourself)

 

With that said, while I am a firm believe that there is no such thing as "too much" recharge on an ill/rad, having about 100% or more global recharge plus the 70% from Hasten and the 30% from Accelerate Metabolism is all you need to perma Hasten/Accel/Phantom Army.

 

I will say you could recoup a slot from Hasten by just +5ing two of the generic lvl 50 recharge IO's which will ED cap you.

 

I agree with Yamato that the slotting in Superior Invisibility really is wasteful for what you're getting for the investment. You'd be far better served putting those slots in Weave for more defense. You could also change your slotting in Tough to a Steadfast resistance/+3% defense, Gladiator's Armor: TP Protection/+3% defense and 3 pieces of the Unbreakable Guard set. You could just about soft cap your s/l defenses that way.

 

Your slotting in Blind is... very poor. Blind's sleep is an afterthought, not its primary purpose. You won't be doing much damage or holding things for as long as you could be with it slotted that way.

 

You could replace manuevers with combat jumping for a similar level of defense at a MUCH cheaper end cost.

 

Mutation is a dead power with dead slotting. The chance for +end will never fire if slotted there except when you res someone... how often do you think that will occur? Use some recouped slots to slot out your Stamina properly and put the chance for +end there.

 

Here's how I might adjust your build to be a bit more efficient while maintaining perma-PA. You'll also have an easier time with endurance this way I think, while being nigh untouchable due to your defenses.

Thanks for the replies guys!  I did a little rework on it before checking back in here and also determined SI was over slotted as well.  Thanks for the insight and answering that AM and Hasten couldn't stack.  I thought they couldn't, but I usually stop slotting recharge once hasten hits that 120s cooldown so I wasn't certain.  I also appreciate the slotting advice, I felt like I was being wasteful but I couldn't really put my finger on it as I am still somewhat unfamiliar with the class

 

Great advice from both of you, I would go back to the drawing board but honestly Nic Mercy this build you have is amazing.  I really dig the soft-capped S/L and energy. Its got Perma PA and AM which were my main goals, and far better recovery, and lower end usage.  Very impressive!

I might be mistaken but they stack if you zone between castings. Most things do. Given how fast a min/max team can rip through content, or even how fast you will be able to solo, that might be something to keep in mind.

 

That said the excess slots are likely used better in other spots. I'd suggest that if you are taking mace then find a way to take poison ray (single slot acc is fine). It is almost as strong as your enervating field and makes a big difference on hard targets. It is super slow, but you only use it once every 30 seconds.

 

You might also want to solve your endurance issues. Nic's build looks like it has about 30-40 seconds of combat before it flatlines. Even less if you use choking cloud. Tall order to get perma PA and have no end issues though outside of /cold.

All buffs apparently stack between zone changes. It seems like the game "forgets" who gave you the buff when you load in and then allows you to get a second casting because the new buff's caster is known while the previous isn't. Sometimes pretty nifty with longer lasting buffs such as ice shields, if you cast them at the end of a mission, cast them again on the outside and have a short transit to the next one, you can get a couple of minutes of triple stacked buffs.
