Recently I have rolled a Claws scrapper (something i have ignored for a long time ever since back in live) and oh my god I am hooked. However I do love me some /shield goodness (and have an altits problem) Looking for recommendations on a good/fun primary to pair with shield! Heard great things about Ice melee (unexpected) Just avoiding dark and fiery melee since I have those on tanks already! Appreciate inputs! Thank you! While BS isn't considered one of the top scrapper primaries, it looks great with shield and is a lot of fun. It has good AoE - Slice is a 130 degree cone, Whirling Sword is a PBAoE and Head Splitter is a 20 degree cone with a 10 foot range. I built mine with Fold Space, which allows you to leverage the AoE. StriderIV Posted January 15, 2023 Share Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) Dark Melee/Shield is a classic pairing. @Murcielago has a build floating around. @InvaderStych and I have both rocked a Psi Melee/Shield scrapper, which really wins on style points. BS/Shield is aesthetically one of the coolest looking combos. Hard to beat Sword and Board. The combo FEELS like a Scrapper to me, but I would almost want to run it as a Tanker since I’m more likely to pick up Taunt there….and the taunt animation when you have a sword and shield is pretty sweet. Torn between axe and energy melee (didn't try that since the revamp, is power crash good?) Ice melee seems interesting too, though maybe will leave that one for stalker. I'd leave Ice Melee for Stalker myself, as you get the Assassin Strike with it. I don't care for PC myself and if I recall I had to use the Energy Focus to get it to be a cone. Though, I never complained about EM's AOE being only Whirling Hands. Worked for me. Axe is a good choice to go with tho. Lots of fun with that set on my Tanker. Power Crash is a cone regardless of whether you use Energy Focus. With Energy Focus, it's a 10-max-targets cone instead of a 5-max-targets cone (though the area of the cone does not change).
