I don't know if this is possible but, if we can have a Marker/"Call Target" system in teams/leagues to show what monsters to attack. This would be the same as GW2's system (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Call_Target). This would be incredibly when doing hard TFs/raids so players can know what bosses to mow down if they don't read chat.

Please don't read this.

If the Sentinel's Opportunity inherent were a bit more reliable and deliberate, they'd make great marker/shotcallers since they literally get a crosshair effect below the enemy they are targeting. But by what I mean by 'reliable and deliberate' I mean not tying their Inherent to the first two attack powers and REQUIRE a successful hit in order to activate.

HelenCarnate is correct that auto-assist can help although it barely show in the chaos of battle who their target is as the enemy's name will only appear in very small text, it really could use an arrow/marker regardless to show without a doubt that the ally you are targeting is focused on 'that' enemy.

/sign, I say. At least as a power for the more 'leadership-y' or 'tanky' roles, or added to the Leadership pool, because I don't feel like it makes sense for the guy in the back lines or the junior member of the team/SG/task force/whatever to be calling targets, but someone who is a proven strategist (Masterminds, Controllers, maybe Dominators), or tanks so they can control the heat, or even a new 'Tactician' AT (whether it's the new pets/ranged AT that someone proposed in another thread, or just one built around ranged and buffs/debuffs/cc powers or something with a Call Target ability).

Or they can just click on the tank and they auto assist and attack their target.

Do you want everyone to get kicked from teams for leeching? Because that's how you get everyone kicked from teams for leeching. Seriously, 'have yourself on follow/auto-attack on another character' is the most common leech tactic aside from the old tried-and-true 'Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls." method.

Did I say follow/auto-attack?  No.  If you target another player and hit an attack, you automatically assist them.  Meaning you attack whatever target they have targeted.  You would still use your normal attack chain but not have to worry about attacking the wrong mob and pulling aggro (as much).

That would be very nice.  It is easy to see who they are targeting before the battle starts but once powers are flying everywhere it does get a bit more chaotic.

Ah, this one is tough. It's not that I think it's not a good idea, but I worry about anything that makes the game more autopilot. Things that take away the need to strategize, or interact, is what makes it less CoH.

Hmm. In theory it seems innocent, but then there's less need to type in combat. Less need for support toons to have to plan.

I have to, slowly, vote no. Because it sounds good, yet I can see how this would make CoH like other lame and non-interactive, like guild wars where no one teams or even talks, and everyone uses henchmen, and the game is not even an mmo, just a bunch of people soloing online.

That's how we used to do it. You'd have the blasters target/snipe through the tank and keep the agro focused.

I'm old. Ancient by some standards. I command ants like some sort of merciless warlord with life in one hand, death in the other. Doesn't mean the little buggers listen though. That being said, I'm not quite as quick with a keyboard as many of my CoH compatriots. I become a mute during missions, with no time to give instruction or ask clarifications, especially once the battle starts. autoattack is awesome, because I can target what the tank is targeting and his taunt is usually better then my dps agro.

Another drawback to being old is, I've played too many mmo's and can't remember specifics sometimes. However I do remember putting x's, o's, skulls and other symbols over the mobs. You still have to have a plan of attack, and for some who have difficulty communicating this was a great help.

I remember back in the day having binds to call out my anchors for my defender's de-buffs.

"Embalmed Abomination is my anchor" and that sort of thing (enervation wouldn't allow them to explode, so it was extra-effective on them).

And people would still kill them indiscriminately.

Maybe some markers wouldn't be so bad.
