Castrum Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I have my resolution set to 1920x1080, and I can barely make out what my own nameplate titles say, let alone anyone else's. The only option to change font size in the Options is for Chat Window font, not nameplates. Can we please update this for modern resolutions? There's no point to titles if no one can read them.
Oneirohero Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I too have trouble reading nameplates, it's actually worse when people have both the 'The adjective' title and badge title combined with long names. There's an imaginary bounding box that squishes the text smaller should it try to go out of bounds. A change to the maximum size of nameplates in screenspace would be appreciated. I agree. • Increase Size/Scale Cap for Players
EggKookoo Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I agree. The game overall has a font size issue. Given its lack of attention, I suspect in some way the font sizes aren't easily-accessible variables. I mean, I love CoH's aesthetic but whoever thought up the idea of gradient text for the chat window needs to be taken out back and "re-educated."
SwitchFade Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I hesitantly agree... On ONE condition, that there's an upper limit.
EggKookoo Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I hesitantly agree... On ONE condition, that there's an upper limit. I think the intention is that you'd be setting the font size for yourself, not for what others see.
Castrum Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Yeah, I just want to be able to read things lol. Preferably, I would like for the font to be changed so that it can be read more easily at every resolution.
EggKookoo Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 You can change your in-game font. I went with Trebuchet instead of Tahoma, but you can use any ttf file. One thing, in Healix's original post where it says to rename the font to "mont_demibold," make sure it retains the .ttf file extension.
Doctor Brainbottle Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 There is a configuration slider for increasing the overall scale of user interface elements, which helps, though it comes at the price of buttons and so forth also being larger. I wouldn't mind more specific control.
