This is truly, truly amazing stuff--I know they're down right now and I know the folks in charge are doing all they can to get it up and running.

 

Please, please, please feel free to put out a call or a link or something to let us in the community know how we can help you financially--this game means so much to so many people.

Same here, Rocketmandb. My husband is literally playing City of Heroes in the same room, yet all servers are showing as grey for me. Unusual. (I'm grateful for any opportunity to play, of course -- just letting those in charge know that this is occurring.)

Yeah, I'm on TeamSpeak with a long-time friend with whom we logged thousands of CoH hours together over the years. He's playing and I'm locked out - with only a small window to play today.

If you were logged in when the new servers went up, you can continue to play. If you logged in after, or logged out or switched chars and then tried to get back in, the servers are down for you. They are probably integrating the new servers in. It's essentially an emergency maintenance thing.

I finally managed to click on Everlasting, but it's been trying to load a character list (I have none clearly) for many minutes now.  It's stuck, lol.

 

PS/ Aw dang, just got flung back to login.  If at first you don't succeed.....

I suspect that it's an issue with the host that is managing the server access -- so many people going through it that it's not getting connections back from the individual servers quick enough, and they're timing out, so they're showing as down.

I think the "retrieving character list from "(server)" is being used as a placeholder for the queue. everytime I click the "back" button arrow, it says "Are you sure you want to leave your place in the queue?" But it never gets a response from the server and I get the popup that says "You have not received a message from the server (X seconds). would you like to return to the log in screen? Choose no to continue to wait for a response."
