Reconnecting

We released a small update this morning which should allow you to skip the queue if you disconnected in the last 10 minutes. This will allow you to get back into the game in the event of a crash, internet outage, or unfortunate mapserver encounter without having to go through another long wait.

 

This feature is still very much experimental, so there’s no guarantee it’ll work under all circumstances - please let us know how it works (or doesn’t work) for you!

 

This really does not work … just got kicked … now 404 of 444 on Excelsior …

EDIT:  I was in the queue for 35 minutes (now 2:17am UK) … finally got to character screen, click 'next' to enter world …

LOST CONNECTION TO DB SERVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This seemed to be working earlier but seems to have stopped working now as mapserved and joined at the back.

 

*edit* It seems to be partly working, Im getting a lost connection to DB server and a "your character is logging out" error followed by a "You have been kicked" message BUT i am avoiding having to requeue to fail to get in ;)

The new reconnecting feature doesn't work for me. The game was running okay then lost connection to torchbearer and found my self in very long queue.

 

I decided to try one of the new servers. It took about half an hour to queue into Indomitable. I created a character, logged into Atlas, and got my first mission.

 

On the way to the mission I got dc and immediately logged back in to find I was 280 in queue. Less than 15 minutes in game!

Yes the queue dismissal from disconnecting from the server within a 10 minute time spand is not functioning for me. It throws me back into the lengthy queue anyways.

 

Oh and umm. I can get the past the character screen after 6 attempts (more attempts after I cycle my own connection)

After I posted this I saw my position in the queue had dropped to 1. I waited and got booted with the dbserver error.

 

I immediately logged back in and got to the select character page but when i selected the character I was booted and told the character is still logging out. When I tried to log in. I got an error message "1413176617". I tried again, made it to character selection. got booted, and another note about logging out and another stream of numbers.

 

So I bypassed the queue twice but could not load the character.

Inconsistent behavior with the queue jump here, too.  Following the suggestion of another user to post here because I don't want to clog up the forum with repeat threads and I don't want to try to presume to make one to sticky.  Sat in queue for probably half an hour, give or take, finished creating a character, mapservered out, and then wound up at the end of the queue.

 

The new problem is that I select my server and it boots me to login without an error message to report.

 

Not griping, just trying to provide an experience to help with troubleshooting (maybe?)

Cannot create a character on Everlasting.  It fails every time.  'Map failed to start.'

 

EDIT:  Cannot even get to the queue on Indomitable.  It sends me back to the login screen.

 

After Indomitable died (still showed as online) I got into a fairly short queue for Everlasting and created a new character but got the map failed error so didn't get to play. Luckily I saved the costume.

 

One odd thing on Everlasting was I couldn't confirm whether the selected name was available or not. The Notification just spun but didn't give an answer.

 

In queue for my old unfaithful server now. If I'm lucky I will be able to play in 2 hours. :P

Can we assist in anyway? My daughter was able to see me play earlier and she wanted to play with me. I was so excited that she wanted to join me. This game is more for me then just a game. This was one of two MMOs I could get my brother to play who has passed away. My short time of playing had me enjoying every minute.

i can say for sure that multiple times today i was booted from the game either for disconnected or other random reasons and wasn't able to skip the que...even just recently i was on around 8:45 after waiting over an hour in the cue, only to play 20 mins and lost the mapserver and get booted...waited another 90 mins for a que of 250 people to have the servers taken down...

 

really do appreciate you guys doing this for all us fans who miss this game...but with this much trouble to get in for just 20 mins at a time...hardly seems worth it

Please turn off comments on Announcement so we can only see official posts from the GM/game runners and not all the incessant whining and trolling.  Thank you!  And THANK YOU for bring this game back to life!!!!!!!!!

 

Yes please! It's a tiny bit more work but if you could have no comments on Announcements and then post a "tell us your login, queue or mapserve issues" post for folks to reply to, might be helpful.

 

Thanks a billionty-umpteen for all this incredible work! Raining kisses on your tired heads. <3
