per prev chats with Manga, request an alternate channel specific to Mac/Apple users so that if any wanting help, they can have it from any that play on Mac w/o having to search thru previous requests. then pc & linux can keep together ( i think ) in the same channel. as mentioned in discord, this'd be easier than trying to create a mac specific role. then anyone that can help, can update the notifications for new messages and give Manga a break from being one of a few main mac support users.

Then to the best of my knowledge, this isn't the place for this request. This part of the forum is for suggestions and feedback about the game.

 

Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure you can set up your own channel on Discord as well. And have Mac users congregate on that channel to help each other out.

You can not create a channel on Discord with default user permissions.

Also, this is about the best place to make this suggestion outside of Discord itself, and channels scroll by so quickly there, making it here makes the most sense.

I avoid Discord, so thanks for the heads up. Though I would argue that the Website Suggestions and Feedback forum would be a more appropriate venue for the OP.

Funny thing. I just logged on Discord and created a new channel. So yes, you very much can create a channel on Discord with default user permissions. Click the "+" and you can make a Discord channel/server. Call it the City of Heroes Mac channel or whatever. Keep it public and spread the word. Now you have a CoX Mac server for Mac users to help each other. Problem solved.

 

Edit: I found the official Homecoming Discord server and sent two messages requesting a Mac channel be added. Addressing this on the Discord is the best place for this. You can check the members list to see who manages the channel and message those individuals directly. Or post the request on the server's general channel.

hmm, might have to get them to look at new members permissions, because i don't see the means to create a new channel on the home coming discord.

 

as to doing it here, for many it's easier to get on to the forums than when not near their computer. hence posting here. as to this particular suggestion forums, it's for most anything not covered by this Website Suggestions Feedback in the forums.

I was unaware there was an official Homecoming Discord. (I avoid Discord.) You can create your own dedicated CoX Mac players server using the "+". You have to post on the Discord and/or message those who manage the official Discord to get them to add a channel on their server.

Creating your own server does not fulfill the purpose the OP is asking for.

 

I can create a Discord channel called "Microsoft update support," but people looking for actual, official information and support from Microsoft aren't going to get it there (and frankly I'd probably see it get shut down and/or myself sued by Microsoft.)

 

We have the Homecoming client, there's a Mac version with Mac specific quirks, the appropriate place for seeking help is not a completely disassociated server but a channel on the official one, and frankly, yes, this is perfectly appropriate as a place to get eyes on the request.
