Not a lvl 1 priority, I get that, it sure would be nice to to see one of those tv station vans on the streets with a reporter and cameraman jumping out from time to time, 'On the news to night the hero.....'

Having news crews appearing for some of the zone events, like the building fires in Steel, appearances of the Ghost Ship or Lusca, and the Troll events in Skyway would add to the immersion. Someone would need to do up the scripting for all the NPCs, though, even if you stole existing NPC designs for the news crew, and the news van would need to be created. Other than the scripting for it, I don't think it would involve a large amount of work, but I can't say for sure.

Reminds me when I was living in Concord, ca and a fairly large brothel was found across the street from the police station.

Even if it wasn't implemented using npc's, or to happen by itself, It could be made as an occasional GM event. They could even use OBS studio or something to actually record something to playback on a screen in pocket D as a newscast. well... that might be a bit much, LOL.

I think for zone events it would be a nice touch.

 

A reporter and crew set up across from the burning building throwing out the names of heroes putting out the fires or whatever.

 

In other locations just have one out there commenting on the latest heroic happenings.

 

You know the deal;  A reporter near City Hall that just picks up on passing heroes and says "The big story today is <hero> and how they shut down a Superadine ring in King's Row" or something like that.

 

Another hero passes by, the reporter says something appropriate to them, just like other NPCs.
