I've had a conversation with several players this past week about powers and enhancements.  I figured I would pass on what I've learned so it can maybe help out others.  In the process, I hope to learn more to help my characters.

Cultivated Darkness helped my with Joey Joe Joe's respec.  Two powers he suggested I get are in the Fighting pool...Tough and Weave.  These are awesome toggles that I plan on getting for pretty much all of my characters.  Here is how I have it slotted on Joey Joe Joe:

TOUGH
Gladiator's Armor - Resistance (crafted - 50+5)
Gladiator's Armor - Resistance/Endurance (crafted - 50+5)
Gladiator's Armor - Resistance/Endurance/Recharge (crafted - 50+5)
Gladiator's Armor - Teleport Protection/+Def (attuned)
Impervious Skin - Status Protection/Regeneration (attuned)
Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance (attuned)

I am using Unbreakable Guard - +7.5% Max HP elsewhere, otherwise I would have it in place of the Gladiator's Armor - Res/End/Rech one.

All of my Resist Damage powers have Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance.  This gives me 70.75% Psionic resistance (awesome for MoM itrials).

Gladiator's Armor - Teleport Protection/+Def is a must on one of your Resist Damage powers.  I placed it here to get the 4-set bonus.

WEAVE
Luck of the Gambler - Defense/Increase Global Recharge Speed (attuned)
Shield Wall - Defense (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Defense/Endurance (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Endurance/Recharge (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Defense/Endurance/Recharge (crafted - 50+5)

All of my Defense Set Powers have Luck of the Gambler - Defense/Increase Global Recharge Speed.

I am using Shield Wall - Teleport Protection/+Res elsewhere, otherwise I would have it instead of the Shield Wall Def/End/Rech one.

Another area to look at is in your Health and Stamina slots.  Don't ignore these.

HEALTH
Regenerative Tissue - Regeneration (attuned)
Panacea: Chance for Hit Points/Endurance (attuned)
Numina's Convalescence - Regeneration/Recovery
Miracle - Recovery

Numina's Convalescence - Regeneration/Recovery and Miracle - Recovery are a must-have.

STAMINA
Power Transfer - Chance to Heal Self
Power Transfer - Endurance Modification
Performance Shifter - Chance for +Endurance

Joey Joe Joe is a Shield/Mace Tanker.  Three of my favorite slotted powers are in the Shield category.  Two are toggles, while the other is always on.

DEFLECTION
Luck of the Gambler - Defense/Increase Global Recharge Speed (attuned)
Luck of the Gambler - Defense (attuned)
Unbreakable Guard - Resistance (attuned)
Unbreakable Guard - Resistance/Endurance (attuned)
Unbreakable Guard - +7.5% Max HP
Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance (attuned)

This can take both Defense Set and Resist Damage!  I take advantage of Defense by using a couple Luck of the Gambler enhancements.  This is also where I place my Unbreakable Guard - +7.5% Max HP enhancement.  Finally, there is the good old Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance.

BATTLE AGILITY
Luck of the Gambler - Defense/Increase Global Recharge Speed (attuned)
Shield Wall - Defense (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Defense/Endurance (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Defense/Endurance/Recharge (crafted - 50+5)
Shield Wall - Teleport Protection/+Res (attuned)

Pure Defense Set toggle, so Luck of the Gambler - Defense/Increase Global Recharge Speed is used again.  The rest are Shield Walls including the Shield Wall - Teleport Protection/+Res.

TRUE GRIT
Preventive Medicine - Healing/Absorb (attuned)
Panacea - Healing/Absorb (crafted - 50+5)
Titanium Coating - Resistance (attuned)
Titanium Coating - Resistance/Endurance (attuned)
Steadfast Protection - Knockback Protection (attuned)
Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance (attuned)

This can take both Healing and Resist Damage! I use a lot of set enhancements here, and it works.  Of course, there is Impervium Armor - Psionic Resistance.

Joey Joe Joe is pretty set in how he is built.  He sits nicely with 2889.40 hitpoints.  I do have a few enhancements I'd like to get, but since they are D-Sync, I have to depend on luck in the Dr. Aeon taskforce.  I look forward to seeing what others have done and will gladly answer any questions both here and in-game.  My list of main characters are:

Milrop - level 50 Elec/Elec blaster

Joey Joe Joe - level 50 Shield/Mace tanker

Annoying-Man - level 50 Broad Sword/Regen scrapper

Hamuk - level 50 Trick Arrow/Archery defender

Agent Carmichael - level 50 Dual Pistols/Ninjitsu sentinal

Dread Pirate Joey - up and coming Dual Blades/Super Reflexes stalker

+a few more

It looks like a solid build but I am curious as to why you Attuned the Shield Wall Proc? It breaks up the set and removes the 4th set bonus which is a nice addition to the set.

Also, the Heals within True Grit, if you are lookin for more Hit Points/Absorb why not just slot 2 Heal IOs or two of one of the sets you have in it?

It seems you are missin out on a couple of set bonus that would give more resist and/or a nice Recov bonus.

I'm not suggestin you change anything for it is your toon but it just seems odd to me to frankenslot those like you did.

I rarely play melee toons and as a consequence of that I loathe taking the Fighting Pool powers. They are so wasteful on a good build if you're not getting into the thick of things, but sometimes feel necessary. I especially dislike having to take a melee power I will never use (you get 2 good Prestige melee powers from P2W vendors) just to get the others and there are often superior solutions out there.

On the rare occasions that I have taken melee toons (tanks and brutes only) I've never found the Fighting Pool to be an absolute requirement... so in many ways it seems so niche as to be almost redundant for my play style.

You also have a hard on for attuning stuff. I would never attune a proc unless I got one at significantly higher level than I usually play... so if I exemp down it still works. If you're exemping down a great deal, I'd suggest you're paying way too much for a build. I would prefer to make a 2nd build and use cheaper IOs and cheap invention sets at an appropriate level. You have a choice of 3 builds per character at level 50 after all.

There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator but only a fraction of people understand that.

I attune all non-PVP and non-purples because it allows them to be used at any level.  That way, when doing Ouro missions, those enhancements still work fine.  I do agree, I hate having to take Kick to be able to get the Tough and Weave powers, but the latter two powers are extremely useful for my tanker.

As for the PVP ones, I use attuned Unique ones.  I know you can't make the Shield Wall  - Teleport Protection/+Res a 50+5, but I will experiment with the level 50 unattuned enhancement and check the numbers to see.  Fortunately, attuning the Shield Wall  - Teleport Protection/+Res doesn't mess with the set bonus.

I do have multiple builds.  I have my normal one which is pretty much set up for Itrials.  I also have a build set up for Hami raids.  Any lower-level content gets the normal Itrial build.

I do appreciate constructive comments here.  I created this post to get a discussion going.  I am showing what helped my tanker a lot, but I know can always find improvements.  Many of these enhancement configurations I have used on my alts and have been very successful too.
