Bladed Blast and Bladed Assault

Blast

T1 - Toss Blade - generic minor attack - uses sped up ring of fire animation

T2 - Throw Blade - generic moderate attack - uses sped up char animation

T3 - Chuck Blades - generic cone attack - uses flashfire animation

T4 - Target Vitals - auto power - adds lethal dot to all attacks, maybe 5% tohit all the time, takes tohit sets

T5 - Precise Short Blade - snipe - animation unknown

T6 - Rain of Swords - taoe - uses Bullet Rain animation

T7 - Heavy Throw - narrow cone like piercing rounds also its animation

T8 - i ran out of ideas

T9 - fan of blades - pbaoe nuke that uses typhoones edge animation

 

Assault

almost the same thing but two melee attacks and a one thousand cuts cone attack somewhere

Replace all plant assets with blades

That's basically what the ranged claws attacks are, (not that I'm against an entire set centered around such attacks, mind you).

Also note that several SoA and Black Scorpion Patron Pool powers have you firing off a ranged attack from a melee weapon, so there's at least some precedent...

For the snipe, an appropriate animation already exists in the form of Masterful Throw from the dominator martial assault secondary. I think that uses a shuriken projectile like most of the other attacks in that set but at least theoretically it should be possible to swap that out for a knife instead.
