I'm really excited to play fire melee, and I want the most AoE privy primary! Maybe the new Stone Armor takes the cake? Or is it Bio with enhance offensive capabilities? Or Rad for the T9 and moar AoE?

Curious what y'all think!

If damage is your goal, you probably can't do better than just pairing it with Fiery Aura.  I'm a huge fan of Rad and it does give you two proc-bombers, but.. Blazing Aura, Burn, Consume, and Fiery Embrace?  That all turns Fiery Melee up to 11, I think.

 

Rad if you want to be sturdier.  Fiery Aura if you just want to see the world burn.

I have a bio/fire, and he's really quite good. In a s/l farm, I find i end up dropping bosses before the herd thins, it's wierd having good ST damage on a tank. 

 

I also run a rad/savage, and the AOE burst covers an enormous area. Like, even with Tanker AOE radius, you usually have to wait a couple seconds to let them mob you, and ranged attackers will often be missed. Rad/sav opening salvo is literally a carpet bomb, very little is not touched in an average spaced spawn. I do wish for better ST, though. 

 

I can see rad/ fire being really, really good. Fire armor might bring better sustained damage, and Rad armor better and wider opening burst, along with being sturdier.

My two infs worth?

Rad Armor (I love the combo), very AoE heavy pairing and incredibly team oriented.

Fiery Aura (as Zem mentioned), MOAR DAMAGE.

Dark (is a bit more difficult to play (End issues early on), but provides an interesting blend of synergy, and powers and colorations allow you create many elemental based looks)

Bio, as others have mentioned (Bio is a solid primary)

Electric is fun with FM, but Electric needs a bit of love to bring it in line with the other primary sets. 

 

Unless you're out of Granite, I'm not a huge fan of Fiery Melee with Stone Armor.

Nothing warms your opponent like Fiery Melee.

Both are good, I tend to like Rad over Bio, but that's just me. Don't choose one, chose BOTH! The world needs more Tanks!

Once you've done and enjoyed either of those, you've just *got* to have a FIre/Fire/Pyre in your stable.  Very survivable (not as much as Rad and Bio, obviously), but killing things before they can hit you is better than Defense, Resistance and Absorb Shields, combined 🙂  /of course insert some sarcasm, before the hardest of hard core tanker posters vilify me.../
