Tallestgreen Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 CoH will crash if I alt tab away from the game for more than a few seconds. This doesn't happen until I actually load into the world. Screenshot of my graphics settings attached.
Troo Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 why you alt-tab'n seriously though, setting the game to windowed mode might help ya. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum

Switched to windowed and i still have the same issue, unfortunately. I thought it might be a CPU priority issue, but after testing it on higher priority, it doesn't seem to fix it either
Troo Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 oof, well maybe someone else might have a suggestion. unfortunately we may simply have 19 year old fame that doesnt appreciate that you may want to do something else while playing it. I use window mode to occasionally run a couple instances of the game with little issue. Tallestgreen Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 Coming back after about a week to say i found a solution (more of a workaround if anything). The crashing only happens if the game is rendering the world when I tab back. If I pull up a full screen in-game window, I have no crashes when I head back. So far, this is only the Enhancements "Manage" window, but it works, and prevents crashes. 1
lemming Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Not sure, my guess is a graphics driver is having issues with what CoH is trying to do. Operating System, Graphics Card, and a few other variables would need to be known for proper diagnosis. I think the diagnostics client may help point to what is going on and maybe there's a setting that will at least avoid the issue once known:
