Going the Moonbeam & Meld route, how do you handle perception & to hit debuffs if you're fighting arachnos and carnies for example? Just popping accuracy insps like crazy and hope they do enough?

I usually pop yellows and go nuts but usually most everything is dead before I have to worry about that.

So at what are you running your missions then? I have a purpled out DM/SD at 50+1 and running +4x8 with bosses there is no way in hell i could wipe a spawn before something like this becomes an issue. An SD > SC > Judgement (only available every 90s) > DC combo will only scratch bosses (maybe down to 60%? maybe further for carnies, bur illusionist might be invul for part of the combo) and even lieutenants might still be alive (spells have a max hit count, 95% hit chance is max, mobs are not grouped etc etc). A master illusionist (a spawn can have 2 or 3 of these) can take about 2s until she has a dark servant out, at that point your to hit is floored at maybe ~20% which means you're going to hit with about 10-20% chance, if you don't hit anything you can't get rid of the servant or illusionist and can't even heal yourself anymore.

 

These are the situations i am wondering about and unless your aoe combo somehow does triple the damage of what i do, you should run into them as well, no?

 

The perception debuff is a lesser issue here as one acc insp will do, but against arachnos you will get blinded a lot, so you will be chewing through these as well.

While I am moving along slowly was not able to play for almost two weeks do to work and taking a trip with the wife to celebrate 25 years of putting up with me. I hit 48 I am one luck of the gambler + recharge away away for finishing up all but the really top tier IO's and  I am soft capped on all three positions now. Now all I need to do is farm 1200 merits to get my 6 superior scrappers IO's and then 6 Superior Critical IO's and 1.2 levels from 50 then I can start my incarnate stuff

 

One of the best leveling IO's I spent money on have been 3 pulverizing fisticuffs and 3 pounding slugfest I run that in my smite and midnight grasp and have for a long time made leveling better and did that for about 5 million. They are still in the attacks now until I collect my last 13 IO's

 

I dropped hasten for now I may change my mind later but for the time being I am no longer have hasten

I only run at +2x8. I've found that +4x8 has a huge diminishing return when solo'ing.

 

My attack chain is Shadow Meld > Run in > Absorb Alpha > SD > MG > Smite on one boss > MG > SM on sec boss > SC > Judgement everything is mostly dead and finish off bosses or LTs. Then I'll do that again but instead of using Judgement I'll just DC.

 

I've tried running +4x8 while solo'ing but it just takes too long.

I want to figure out a way to drop hasten, I find that it makes the build too "clicky" and interrupts my attack chain.

 

Also buying the Scrapper AIO's was the easiest way for me to get them.

 

I'm currently in the process of attuning all of my enhancements and holy cow enhancement catalysts are expensive.

They are! Too bad I didn't find out until after I was already slotted that I can just buy the enhancements from the market already attuned for the same price. Would have saved me a few hundred million.

Should I just buy unslotters and the attuned enhancements then? Because cats are 4m INF right now...

I am almost done putting the final touches to my DM/SD build. He is sitting at 48% melee, 49% range, 50% aoe Defenses, with 69% resistance for lethal/smashing and perma hasten. Defenses go higher when I deploy my Seers. So far I have not had any problems with Endurance management and he is tearing through all content at +4/x8. Loving it and I am thinking this characters performance level has ruined me for trying to play any other toon. lol

 

I'm having kind of the opposite experience. I've managed to get full IO / superior AIO sets and the build is definitely solid. However, it feels clunky for me even with perma hasten and plenty Luck of the Gambler slotted. The AoE clear just doesn't really compare to what I was getting on a Spines/Fire brute with equivalent investment. The single target is decent, but for that I felt my Illu/Rad controller outperformed it.

 

What kind of end-game content should I be looking to do solo that this build excels at? So far, it feels like a jack of all trades master of none kind of deal.

The best aoe clear for scrappers using shield is elec/shield and I would say my fire/sd was also a better balance of aoe + st over DM but I knew all that when making my DM/SD I had previously had a dm/sr and a dm/da at 50 and a fire/sd at 50 back in the day so i knew what I was getting with going dm/sd

I got a 100 merits in about 3.5 hours and that was not being as efficient as I should have been and bought my first scrapper IO today and that was going from zero merits to 1-4 . Yes I got 104 merits solo in ouroboros

Ill/Rad will absolutely outperform just about anything in terms of damage output. This is a ST killer with ok AoE and tons of survivability. The benefits it has over other combinations are soul drain and siphon life. SL adds a heal that no other primary has. End game content you can almost solo 90% of the game, almost any AV minus boosted LR and the Crimson Prototype.

I am attempting to increase SL's healing ability and keep my soft cap defenses. I want more ranged defense but need to work on that.

I believe one of your more reasonable options to get back to soft cap with your current SL healing increase would be to drop the Preventative Medicine chance to absorb, drop One with the Shield or Grant Cover, and pick up Super Jump for another Blessing of the Zephyr 2 slot bonus. At a glance this is the move I would make. I'll keep poking around and see if I get a feel for a less invasive alternative.

You can also move the celerity to sprint which frees up a slot without losing anything. And i'd get rid of confront before the other two mentioned ones but maybe you have a special liking for it. I would never get rid of grant cover, giving up the 92.5% defense debuff resistance will never be an option for me.

 

Additionally you can get rid of one of your slots in hasten if you +5 the other two it's more than enough.

 

On top of that you can move an LotG (from battle agility for example) to grant cover to free another slot, but I assume there's also a specific reason why you don't do that.

These are good, I like these proposed changes. I was hoping confront would actually be useful but it's only mag 1 so it doesn't do jack. I'm not running a 7.5% in GC for endurance reasons.

One more thing i just saw: you can move the Steadfast Protection 3% def to one with the shield, you will loose a tiny bit of the resists in tough, but it will open up another slot, of course one with the shield will be slotted worse, that might be a factor.

 

Just to also post my current build, i haven't been able to let go of focused accuracy as i hate nothing more than not being able to hit enemies. Because of that i am also still staying with spring attack, which isn't overwhelming but i think it's the best option if i am set on body mastery. My build focuses a bit more on resists and hp, getting to 60% s/l and 37% e/n/f/c i also left out one with the shield because i really don't like powers that you can only activate every 5-10 minutes. My health slotting might be a bit controversial, but it's quite difficult to find a good way to get ranged defense without slotting mules like boxing otherwise, so i rather just aimed for at least somewhat useful slots.

 

I see that there are a bunch of fans of the gaussian proc IO, but i am having a hard time letting go of those 6% s/l resists even though i probably should, how often do you get the proc with soul drain? Do you see a considerable difference in damage?

That is a REALLY nice build. That resistance is really good. One thing that is tripping me out is the slotting for SL shows 33% recharge reduction but it's not slotted at all for recharge???
