Touch of the Beyond should have a ring around it when the sustain is down

Unlike most blaster sustains, Touch of the Beyond from Darkness Manipulation is an enemy-targeted click power. It also has a very short cooldown compared to the duration of the sustain effect, presumably to facilitate using it for its fear effect. Since you can't renew it between fights and it doesn't necessarily make sense to spam it on cooldown, it ends up being pretty easy to forget to use it once every two minutes. Thus I think it would be nice to have a ring around it as a reminder.

 

(I know there have been posts in here suggesting more radical reworks of this power or Darkness Manipulation as a whole, but this seems like a simple QoL improvement that doesn't have to wait for that.)

TBH I'm not all that familiar with darkness manipulation for blasters but

I gotta say, looking at this power on paper

its already pretty fantastic

 

Short cooldown

long duration

low endurance cost

Hold

-to hit

+recovery

+ regeneration

long range

builds defiance

90% accuracy base

fast cast

 

very few powers in the game have that much bang for the buck.

Have you tried placing the power on Auto?

or maybe just working it into your rotation?

cause it sounds pretty awesome

 

I used to have the same problem with "active defense" in the shield powerset

I always forgot to use it

until I made the conscious effort to incorporate it into my rotation

it requires adjusting how you play a little but its worth it

 

I'm not saying your idea is bad

because some abilities could use better indicators (lookin at you T9 crashes)

however I am not sure this is one of them
