Garble Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 I noticed that if you keep the starting plot size (8x8), add a rotated Large 5x8 room and a Medium 2x5 room, you can open up most* of the remaining squares by adding 6 doorways. (*I haven't found anyway to open the square just diagonal to the initial entrance room.) But if I want a bigger base with as open a floor plan as possible, what's the best strategy for this? Edit: Okay, it looks like the question was already answered here: The largest plot available is 24x28. The largest room available is 24x24. So... other than a four space strip along one side, you can have your entire base be a single giant room. That strip along the side can be occupied by 3-space-wide rooms and the spaces between opened up with Doorways.
Garble Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 Update. As sykoholic001 said, the largest plot is 24x28 and the largest room is 24x24. However, there is also a "Huge 2x21" room you can add (may need to rotate) and then use doorways to fill in the rest. This still leaves an unopened square diagonal from the starting corner.
