Here are the binds I'm using as well. I have a Razer Naga mouse so I use that for almost all powers. I would have the forms on the mouse buttons 4 and 5 but I'm having issues with them. Anyway...

G - Bright Nova

V - White Dwarf

X - Light Form

Left Shift - Down flight

F - Energy Flight

Shift+F - White Dwarf Step

B - Combat Flight

Here's where it gets interesting:

1 - "powexecname photon seekers$$powexecname bright nova bolt$$powexecname white dwarf strike"

2 - glinting eye/dwarf smite

3 - solar flare/nova blast/dwarf flare

4 - radiant strike/nova scatter/dwarf antagonize

5 - reform essence/dwarf sublimation

Shift+5 - essence boost

6 - incandescent strike/nova detonation

7 - quantum acceleration

Shift+7 - quantum flight

8 - conserve energy

9 - dawn strike

0 - inner light

Thanks for the build. In another thread, you mentioned that you took down a pylon with it. Did you use incarnates, and if so, which ones? What was your strategy?

Since PBs are a jack of all trades, master of none, I had to use incarnates to get enough damage to overcome the Pylon's regen. These are the ones I used during the test:

Alpha - Musculature

Lore - Polar Lights

For the full incarnate set I look for things to fill in what I'm lacking depending on what I'm fighting it can be damage, regen, and status effects. Having perma light form and white dwarf covers a lot of general play, but when I start doing incarnate stuff the status effect mag goes up and sometimes I need clarion. Typically my incarnate load out is:

Alpha - Musculature Core Paragon (I want all the damage I can get)

Destiny - Rebirth Radial Epiphany (I don't need the HP boost because Essence Boost does that)

Judgement - Ion Core Final (Personal preference, I like the jump effect and it hits 40 targets)

Interface - Reactive Core Flawless (I've also been experimenting with Degenerative Core Flawless but anything that helps me kill stuff)

Lore - Polar Lights Core Superior Ally (Kinda thematic here and they do a lot of AoE, for killing AVs or anything, Warworks or Longbow for the -regen)

Hybrid - Assault Core Embodiment (more damage and auto +10% damage)

I'll try the record how fast I can do a pylon with all of my incarnates

Nice build! Might steal some ideas for my PB :P

Out of interest, how do you play the shields (Shining, Thermal, Quantum)? I've always been reluctant to take them, as they won't work in the shapeshift forms and it'd be a hassle (and prevent quick-shifting) if I wait to toggle them after shifting back all the time. Have you just used them as mules for the +psionic res? Or do you use them heavily?

Thanks for the compliment ;D

They are strictly for the set mules because I shift a lot lol. I wanted to be able to take more psi damage. Since we have essence boost and two heals we can take psi damage purely with hit points but at higher levels I really wanted to tank everything without having to watch my HP bar. Plus, being on a team can boost the Psi on top the 50% I have. If I'm exempting below Light Form my team adds some and I use dwarf to play more of a tanker role a if I'm below dwarf I just kill things in nova form. I have all the sets attuned so I have some bonuses across all levels.

If anyone wants to see how I play the forms let me know.

I play on Excelsior right now and I'm always down to team up!

Orivon -

I'm an aspiring PB on Excelsior too!

I prefer to remain in human form to take advantage of all utility the non-alien form possesses, but I'm very intrigued at your build.  I am also overwhelmed at the idea of upgrading to 'sets' to maximize my potential.  Perhaps I've underestimated their power, but I am wary considering how powerful Solar Flare and Dawn Strike are!

Hope to chat with you in game one day!

Let's team up sometime and I can show you how I play mine :D

Yeah, sets really help fill in holes or improve on traits you already have but the slotting mindset is a lot different.

Speaking of Solar Flare, I just added that into my build in place of gleaming blast. They do about the same but because I'm usually in melee range anyway, I'd rather hit more targets. It's slotted with the full 6 Superior Kheldian's Grace.

Uber!

Help me out though ... what exactly are "set mules"?

Does that refer to slotting a power you've taken simply as a placeholder for a particular enhancement or enhancements that give you some side benefit not provided elsewhere in your build?

Thanks for the build again! I'm also on excelsior, so we should team up some time. I had a question real quick. Can you shift in and out of light form to the other forms or once you lf are you locked into for the 2 mins? I was thinking of if I had to pull aggro but couldn't go dwarf what would I do type situations.

Thanks

Yes, exactly! For instance in my build. I don’t regularly use the shields or combat junping but I took them so I could slot an enhancement that gives a global bonus like psi res or global recharge. I don’t intend to ever use the power.

Totally! I love teaming up for anything big or small!

Back in the day, Light form was an actual form. You would lose your human body and become a glowing ball of kheldian energy and you couldn’t go into any other forms and the crash was much different (you can still get the look of the old LF by power customization in Costume Creator). Now, LF is usable in all forms and the crash takes half your health and end. So now, you can tank in nova form but still go into dwarf to taunt. LF resists will stack with dwarf as well. Including the mez protection/resistence. So if you get held in LF by a boss you can go into dwarf and keep smashing until the effect wears off. Or if you get debuffed and lose some resistence, popping into dwarf gives you some back. That’s why I like all the forms because they work well together.

Thanks again, Orivon!  It was a pleasure to meet you in game!  And thanks so much for the invite to SG!  Truly, nothing was quite so frustrating and exhilarating at the same time after finally reaching 50 - to realize that there was a way to really enjoy the utility human form offers while also taking full advantage of both alien forms!

I hope you don't mind if I make some comments, brainstorm, and ask you some random specific questions?

1. How did you determine the flight speed cap with energy flight and quantum acceleration?  How do figure out the cap on this for any AT for that matter?  Better to fly in human form with Quantum Acceleration for the improved inertial control, speed, and defense, than to fly in Nova form, right?  You'd need to slot Nova with something to cap speed in this form, I'm guessing.

2. Your build omitted Glowing Touch.  As I was leveling with friends, I found this 'heal-other' power useful!  It has come in handy in some higher level missions too ... but I can see why you chose to not heal others ... we need the slots.  Particularly with high end content, I think my efforts are better used in the pursuit of DPS for team, than the (back-up) utility of a healer.

3.  Let's talk about Knockback.  I was always sensitive not to compromise the herd of mobs so as to maximize AE DPS efficiently with teams ... so Gleaming Blast, Solar Flare, and Dawn Strike were always those situational powers to use when we had the bad guys all bunched in a nook or cranny on a mission map.  That is - until I found the Sudden Acceleration enh set!  It doesn't look like Knockback concerns you in your build.  Did I waste my influence buying a couple KB - KD enhs for Solar Flare and Dawn Strike respectively?  (Boy were they expensive on the AH)

4.  OMG, I did not realize we can use Light Form while in Nova or Dwarf form!  Or did I misunderstand?

5.  I have always been a 'click-the-power-button' type of hero ... so assigning binds for them would be somewhat of a challenge for me ... but considering how seamless I've seen you dart in and out of our kheldian forms, I am willing to give it another go.  Advice?  Essential vs. nice to have?

6.  Inner Light used when available, but not priority?  I see only one slot used in your build.

7.  I regret removing the melee powers from my current build.  Radiant and Incandescent Strikes are simply too nice to omit in melee range of the bad guys.  I could be blasting away at a boss for over 30 seconds and barely scratch the surface, and one carefully-timed Radiant Strike would do the trick (or most of it).  Incandescent Strike is awesome too, but I utterly HATE the activation time for it!

8.  If I embrace the core essence of your build, it will take some effort not to be anxious about the missing shield powers.  They've served me so well up to 50!  OMG, I'm naked and exposed!!

9.  One slot recharge on Hasten?  That isn't Perma-ed, is it?

10.  I need some serious coaching on the Incarnate stuff (slotting Alpha, etc ... after 50).  I've read your choices for enhs in your slots ... but how in the sam-squid hell did you get these?  :)

11.  I also need some serious influence and Merit Rewards to actually pay for some of the build you've achieved!    /bow  /praise  Looks like I'll be doing Hamidon raids as often as I can.  I am quite fond of his Hami-Os.  I mean to use them where I can in my build too.  Ouroboros Flashbacks, here I come.  Hmmm ... what to do with all these AE tickets?  :)

Thanks so much for inspiring me to change the way I think about the Kheldians, Orivon!

Cheers!~

I'm glad I'm providing some help and let's team again soon!! Maybe I'll get enough khelds together to do some TFs.

Ask away!

1. This thread talks about the flight speed cap. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4702.msg35929.html#msg35929

In my build I didn't slot any flight speed because I find Quantum Acceleration with either Energy Flight or Quantum Flight to be fast enough for me. If I need to go faster, I'll use White Dwarf Step or just use the mission teleporter.

2. Back on live, I had glowing touch on my build because I like being able to do everything: attack, defense, and healing. But since we've had the game back and I was going through all my screenshots to make my character again from scratch I went through all the sets and found things I hadn't used previously and because of slotting I had to loose glowing touch. Because it becomes available at 26 I already have dwarf so I usually will play tank and taunt enemies off of my allies. If you take it, it does need some slots to provide better healing and I could see replacing it with something if you really wanted to heal allies. If I were to fit it in my build I might try swapping out solar flare (which I took in place of gleaming blast) and slotting it with another 5 slot panacea and give the extra slot to something like photon seekers for damage. With end game I usually have Rebirth Destiny incarnate which is a Wide PBAoE Heal with +regen.

3. I'm not bothered by kb at all but it's a person preference thing really. Plus, you can sell them back to the market if you end up not needing them. Usually everything is dead pretty quick anyway. If I'm in a group I do tone it down a little and mainly stick to double nuking things (Inner light > photon seekers > dawn strike) or Bright Nova Scatter (which has no KB). Or if I'm teamed with a controller, most of the immob powers have -kb so I can blast away without worry after they cast it.

4. Yes we can use it in all forms!! :D

5. I use a gaming mouse which helps IMMENSELY. I have Nova bound to G and Dwarf bound to V and Light Form X. Other than that, my mouse does all the work :P There are plenty of other ways to write binds for kheldians and there are already some good examples here on the forums.

6. This question I can address the same time as number 9. I have enough recharge in my build to make both perma with only the one recharge slot. I use inner light, hasten, and light form right when they're back from cool down. Essence boost too but I usually time it after LF so I heal from the crash.

7. Radiant Strike is amazing. Great dps and dpa power. Incandescent does have a long recharge but it delivers good damage and a hold. But you'll only hold Lts and not bosses. I love the look of the melee powers :D

8. My build uses Light Form so that I don't have to worry about feeling stuck in a form. Because it works in nova and dwarf, I can relax knowing my res are capped (obv not psi but I have 50% to that and lots of heals/HP). You have to pay attention for the crash or else it'll catch you by surprise. If my recharge is floored and Light Form is not coming back in time, then I can either switch to dwarf or use Quantum Flight so become untouchable for 30s.

9. See 6 :D

10. This definitely requires a longer answer but once you hit 50 you start gaining xp to unlock your Alpha slot. Incarnates play a little different on homecoming than they did on live. You still earn xp when you're 50. You get incarnate salvage from killing enemies and when you "level up." That's why you'll see "Veteran Level" in players info now. This is something related to Homecoming. When the game was live, it took a lot longer because a lot of the experience and salvage came from Incarnate Trials.

11. I'm working on making a leveling guide and a budget build too. The one I posted is my final one, no expenses spared. It's a lot easier to get IOs on Homecoming than it was on live. There are tricks to playing the market (crafting or enhancement converters) but you could also farm. I farm with my PB and get about 3 mil every 6min that way. You also get more inf once you hit 50 and just running +4x8 radio missions or TFs will get you lots of money while also just having fun playing :D (farming can get boring)

I'm flattered you're inspired :D I love khelds and I'm glad others are having fun with them too!

See you in game!!

Is there specific mission you use to farm on your PB?

Anything really. Capped res to everything so it can be fire, smashing/lethal, etc...

Lately I've been running one of those space fire farms (Story of a Big Dog (Dawg) or the Comic Con one) and if I turn xp earning off, I get about 5 mil per run. I do it without bosses so it goes faster and get more drops or I'll tend to get bored lol. Next I want to get my praetorian farms going so it's not just all AE stuff.

I've been looking over your build and find it very inspiring and interesting. I did however find a few inconsistencies.

1. You write that you bind solar flare to 3. But when looking over your mids build you never took the power.

2. You also claim to have enough recharge to make hasten perma but, again only going from what I can see in mids, your almost 7 seconds off perma hasten. It might be because of updates and changes since you posted this but I would still like to know if the build you posted still has it ingame.

Other then these two, in my opinion, minor things. Very well done sir. I tip my hat at you.

Thank you very much! I appreciate that!

I'll have to look at the build I have listed, I have made some personal changes to it but the build has perma hasten for sure. I have 140% global recharge without hasten (210 with). I did switch out of Solar Flare because I realized I don't need it when I have the dwarf flare. Ever since shapeshifting became instant cast, I pop in and out of forms constantly. My power rotations vary and are flexible but I look at all the form powers as things I can use at any moment. Oh, and I getting surrounded by mobs? I can use all of my AoE powers (dwarf flare, seekers, dawn strike, nova detonation, etc...) from all forms.

I'll try to upload my current build soon (maybe tomorrow?).

Just came across this (working on my first PB, and was searching regarding Incarnates), and noticed you mention you farm with your PB, due to capped resists.  Opening your build, though, I notice no DEF (but with resists capped with Light Form).  Are you managing to farm on +4/x8 with no DEF and 85% resists?  I usually farm on a 45% def 90% resist brute, so you should be taking 15 times as much damage, by my calculations (5% chance to be hit for 10% chance of the damage, for the Brute, vs 50% chance to be hit for 15% of the damage, for the PB).  I'm not trying to imply you're being anything less than truthful, just wondering whether I'm missing something!  Are you chomping on purple insps to keep DEF up?  Are your healing through the extra damage?

I made a PB guide way back in the day on Live, pre-IOs (I think), and because Kheldians have always been starved for slot, IOs allow us to do amazing things.

I just finally started a PB on Homecoming, I think it will be my 42nd alt to reach 50 🙂

The keys to playing an OP Peacebringer on homecoming is this:

- make lightform perma, because you can still use Nova and Dwarf with light form active (that wasn't true on Live). so you are always at the resist cap except for Psi, which you can cover pretty well through Impervium Armors, as Orivon did here.

- grab the heals to make up from the chipping at your loss of HP that passes through resistance. Essence Boost is super easy to perma, so you run with an extra HP boost and heals to refill it.

Anything else is mostly user preference and slotting for achieving the perma status. I love the superior damage of radiant strike, others hate the animation time. With easy infinite respecs, mix it up and decide what you like! I love constant form switching for double strike, etc...

I am extremely aware of knockback. I play other ATs (e.g. tanks) that rely on being surrounded tightly by a crowd because of how their powers work, and it's annoying as a melee character to go chase foes getting knocked around. Situation awareness is good, like waiting for the controller to spam an immob as Orivon mentioned. Nova flying directly above the battle will cause knock DOWN instead of knockback, but not such luck with Dawn Strike or White Dwarf Strike.  You can easily modify Orivon's build to keep enough speed for perma lightform and perma EB but steal slots from some of the early human attacks to slot -KB IOs in the 3 main KB powers, although I recommend doing it later in the game as you get more slots.

To illustrate here's Orivon's build above with -KB IOs:

You sacrifice Radiant Strike which I almost never use, so you lose 7% accuracy, which takes you from +99% acc to +92% acc for the build. With most of our attacks applying -DEF, I think that's still plenty of accuracy! Also lose 12 HP which is not a big deal (and keep reading)

In the process I noticed that the build is over the cap of 5 sets granting 10% recharge: Superior Kheldian Grace, Hecatomb, Armageddon, Superior Essence Transfer, Ragnarok, Apocalypse

So one of those is "wasted". One solution would be to run regular, not superior, essence transfer in Photon Seekers and get an extra 6.25% recharge because that bonus now counts. that just made up for more than the +Rchg we lost by unslotting Radiant Strike. You lose about 20 points of damage per activation, You can make it up easily by adding the last freed slot to Seekers and slotting an extra (regular) Essence Transfer, e.g. A/D for now better damage in Seekers. By going from superior to regular you also lose 10HP in set bonus. Not a big deal. But I prefer putting the extra slot in Bright Nova Bolt, and another Superior Essence Transfer (A/D) for a bit extra damage, but you now gain 30 HP in bonus set to offset the 10 you lost above.

Panaceas are expensive, you get the exact same effect in Restore Essence by slotting a Doctor's Wound which are much cheaper. given the cost of this whole build, it's minor though.

The 2.5% endurance recovery bonus is also over the cap of 5 (3x Panacea, Impervium Armor Gladiator armor, Positron's blast). so one of those is "wasted" but endrec is not a critical stat to the build and I couldn't think of a substitution that would improve the build stats.

Ignore the slot level number, such as showing a lvl11 slot in a lvl20 power, it's meant to be a respec build anyway. It has virtually identical stats as Orivon's with a small recharge boost and no knockback. I chose to put the extra slot in Bright Nova Bolt, not seekers or White Dwarf Strike, so it still has KB but it's single target.

I left the Crushing impact in Radiant Strike in the build below, but the power is now rather weak, so maybe you play with procs in it. Force Feedback +Rchg? not sure we need more recharge at this point. Analyze weakness chance for +ToHit? never hurts but we're pretty accurate as it is. Blistering Cold chance for hold to stack on Incandescent strike? why not! Achille's heal chance for -REs? sure! Kinetic combat knockdown? How about an acc/dam Hami? Nothing life changing there for though, you pick!

I also have the Rchg Enh regular IOs set to +5 because I can and now Hasten is only 4s off perma instead of 8

OK so as I was playing my PB in the 20s, without KB IOs, I realized that Dwarf Smite and Flare have weak KB (magnitude 0.67), to unless the foes are KB sensitive it is knockdown. Waste of slot or KB to KD IO. Sweet, gotta adjust my planned build, I just found a slot! where to use it...

Nova Blast is real KB (mag >1) but only 10% chance, so porbably not worth the IO I put there either

Nova Detonation and especially Dawn Strike on the other hand are a different story

I just found one or two slot! where to use it...
