Ice Melee synergies

I want to play an Ice Melee, but even when the powerset is a lot better on Stalker, I want to try it out on a Scrapper first since I haven't played this game in years. I've heard Bio is one of the best secondaries, but I feel like it wouldn't fit the theming to Ice Melee, so what else can synergize with that primary besides that? I did see a video with /Invul that was on 50+3, but does it also synergize well with other secondaries like /WP, /Reflex and /Shield?

Shield...a nice Teleport in AOE attack and then you hit Frozen Aura! 🙂

I love Ice Melee on scrappers.  Thanks to Ice Patch it adds an incredible amount of mitigation that lets you focus on doing damage.  I really do not like the ice (or fire) sword animations, but with ice melee it's not a deal breaker to take Frozen Fists over Ice Sword, and a lot of people end up skipping Greater Ice Sword as well.  I find that FF or Ice Sword, Frost, Freezing Touch, Frozen Aura are sufficient for attacks, although it is really nice to be able to get some additional offensive from your secondary/pool/epics.  I've run Ice/Radiation, Ice/Bio, and Ice/Stone on scrappers to 50, and I'd rank them in that order.  At 50 and well equipped, the first two are pretty godly.

I had an ice/bio. I couldn’t get the bio part to work with theme.  You can minimize a lot of bio but not all. Ice/shield is cool as there is an option for a shield made out of ice. My current scrap is ice/sr. Still has ice patch but don’t even close to need it. I use it some here and there. I like the swords though.

I have done Ice/shield and

I also have ice/ea  at 50 all top of the line io's I like both but I can push more limits with EA do to the heal. 

 

My favorite thing on my ice/ea is ice patch and caltrops thank me later for that fun
