While working on the Water Dark I noted that Snarky said he just finished a Dark/Dark... and since he slagged on the Water/Dark... I don't think I really have to extrapolate very far to figure that Snarky probably doesn't have a good build. 

 

So let's fix that by porting all of the Water/Dark Variants I just made to Dark/Dark:

I don't have the time to sort out the differences between all these variants, but here are a few comments:

  • Twilight Grasp requires accuracy and the one piece of Touch of the Nictus slotted doesn't provide enough. Replace Panacea with the full TotN set.
  • Slotting Ice Mistral's in Tar Patch is a waste of slots for a few set bonuses. All Tar Patch needs is 2x recharge IOs.
  • Cloud Senses can't be slotted in Darkest Night - it doesn't accept Accurate ToHit Debuff sets (Mid's is wrong).
  • Slot the other 3 pieces of Superior Scourging Blast in Tenebrous Tentacles to double up on the recharge bonus.
  • Unless you're slotting procs, Howling Twilight doesn't require more than 1-2 recharge IOs. It's autohit and the damage is minimal.
  • Slot Dark Servant with Cloud Senses, not Basilisk's Gaze. Fluffy has 5 powers and only one of them is a hold (the other 4 all debuff tohit).
  • Don't skip Fearsome Stare. It's one of Dark Miasma's defining powers, providing a huge tohit debuff in addition to the fear. Slot with Cloud Senses or Siphon Insight.

Just from a very fleeting glance i'd bet every single one of these requires incarnates to run, cardiac .vigor, ageless or some combo of the 3. Been playing one of these for a long time and they are endurance heavy in long fights/solo av/gm when darkest night is running/tar patch gets spammed/cycling attacks. No way your running all those toggles sub 45 and not needing a recovery serum. 

 

Common mistake i see all the time. Tossing 3 luck of the gambler pieces in a toggle and the shield wall separately in a different toggle. 7.5% recharge piece and 3 shield wall gets you more hp. Same number of slots. Same regen bonus.

 

What @Snarkysaid about the eradication bits.

 

What @Uunsaid about everything. Except tar patch if your chasing rech bonuses. Otherwise i always recommend 2 boosted end/rech/slow pieces. That eats endurance. Especially with those toggles.

 

I see torrent just gets skipped by a massive number of players. Its soft control, slotted with a force feedback and overwhelming kb/kd its massive recharge as it'll hit everything, with that range it'll hit the 2nd mob standing 40 foot behind the first and the ff proc is almost guaranteed to fire off. And your already running a cone toon why skip one.

I’ve respecced out of Soul Drain in every build that had it.  Spirit Drain is not worth the effort to attain/slot it now.  If you have no other choices to make, sure maybe.  But it went from top-tier for Corrs to pretty much just a yawner now.  I know that was the Devs intention as Soul Drain was more OP than they wanted.  But it really took a bit out of damage for most of my builds that were built around perma-Soul Drain, and caused me to rethink proc’s in some of my damage powers as I can’t count on Soul Drain to allow me to follow creative slotting strategies for damage, knowing it would easily give me two-three slots’ worth of +DMG to every damage power while it was up.

Soul Mastery/Soul Drain was actually buffed and is significantly better than Dark Mastery/Spirit Drain.

Yes, Soul>Soul Drain got buffed to 10 targets from 7.  Given how much this last patch worked hard to basically water every epic pool down to be identical to each other, I'm not sure why Spirit Drain was nerfed to 5 targets vs. Dark's Soul Drain to 10.  But whatev's....just makes me choose a different pool entirely since they gutted Dark Mastery's signature power.
