Agreed!  It's so hard to get off in time!

On the other hand, when I faceplant unexpectedly sometimes I feel the overwhelming urge to rez quick before anyone notices I got wrecked...

You know what's a dying etiquette?  Gentlemen laying their jackets down over a mud puddle so that a lady doesn't get her feet wet.

What do these gentlemen do with their soaking wet filth covered letterman jacket in the next scene of the movie? They put it around their date not because their date is cold, but because they're not wearing that thing ever again.

I will usually wait for a rez, mostly because I play a lot of melee toons and popping a wakie in the middle of the mob is usually a bad idea.

Except for Red Rag who has Rise of the Phoenix pretty much as part of his attack chain.

Torchbearer: Flitz (MA/SR Scrapper), Lead Hose (AR/Dev Blaster), Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) ... and many more!

When you die on a team, please wait just a few seconds before you pop that START self-rez. Just enough time for your teammates to have a chance to use Vengeance, or rez you. That’s all we ask! Maybe five seconds!

No.   My Fire Blaster WANTS to hit Rise of the Phoenix.  I want back in the DPS blender, i want to stun and damage anyone near me.

Also, with ROTP i never need a rez.  This is an Iron Man toon and I have never died.  Well, any that count.

Yeah, but Snark, that is a misleading statement.  You're Nosferatu, so you can't die anyway.  You can only be placed in a torpor.  Have some sympathy for us mortal plebes, m'kay? 🤷‍♂️

Women are strong, confident, educated, and independent, so they need no help from a man.

I am sure they can figure it out on their own.

Thanks for bringing this up.  Honestly, I never think about Vengeance, unless I've noticed someone using it earlier.  In counterpoint, might I suggest that as the team forms, the user of Vengeance take a moment to tell they team they have it and please wait a moment before rezzing.  Can't speak for certain mostly dead people, but I'd appreciate the alert at the start.

For my part, perhaps I should look into creating a macro I teach myself to push when I've fallen.  Something that generates a message to the team "Avenge Me!".  By conditioning myself to do so, I automatically remind myself to wait a moment, and the extra seconds necessary to press said macro might be all the teammate needs to start Vengeance.

I studied Healer players long before I decided to make a Healer.  I wanted to do it right.  So by the time I was ready to create a Healer toon, I made sure that I included the Teleport Target power in the build.  That way, I can move the defeated player to a safe space and do what I have to do.  Soon, I realized that powers are not enough.  Sometimes toons die faster than you can recharge.  So I invested in Resuscitator (when another player introduced me to it.)  This is available at the S.T.A.R.T. vendor (Wares > Temp Powers > Buffs > Resuscitator.)  It's EXPENSIVE (500,000 per ten charges.)  But...

But, yes.  PLEASE WAIT at least a little bit of time for old geezers like me to recognize your defeat and react.  Too many times, I cast rez and the player is already standing up.  So I'm just left with Clear Mind and Recovery Aura (for End,) which takes a long time to recharge.

Interesting question.  For me it depends on two things, my team and my toon.  Well Duh, let me explain.  No that will take too long, let me summarize.

If the team doesn't appear to be struggling with my loss, or has stated that they are vengeance baiting or whatever, I will wait a bit, ten seconds max give or take.  If they are struggling then I try to get up fast.

Thus the toon part.  If I am support AT, my buffs/debuffs are needed so I try to get up quickly.  If I am a damage slinger and there isn't a lot of damage slinging, I get up fast.  Otherwise I say, "don't kill yourself trying to rez me, I got it" because I have dozens of wakeys in E-Mail (greatest trick ever).  I often, especially when I have my "Reckless Blaster" hat on will say, don't mind me if I die, I have a plan.  When I am on Blapperella run team, I consider it one of my trademarks to go down once doing something stupid, punching way above my weight class as it were.

If this game was still difficult, you might have a case here.

We're far beyond America Online, 15fps on a CRT monitor, thinking George Bush and Obama were somehow importantly different, and the need to have a balanced team in CoX.

I have to say, rereading this thread, that I am somewhat sad because nobody made the obvious joke about colouring fabrics

Fabrics can't hold crayons or paint brushes, so how would they color?
