WuTang Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Okay, not sure if anyone else has had this happen and as I don't wanna respec again for no reason, cause, ya know it's a PITA (though much appreciated), I thought I'd pop on here and see what's the what what. Any who... I just respec'd my latest Brute, last night. All I had to do was rearrange the slot, all the power selections were remaining the same. Finished the respec and realized I'd left a few of the new enhancements on my bank/storage toon so I alted, emailed, and logged back into my new Brute; and at first, I was like WTF, then I broke out in a smile. The worst thing to me about the respec process is rearranging all the powers as it slams your trays full of everything you have available, but after relog all my powers were back in the trays as they were before the respec. This a glitch? Has anyone else tried this or had this happen? And was it only because my power selections were the same between specs?
kelika2 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 i dunno about that but i use my phone to take a picture of my enhancement screen so i can blow past a respec in like 5 minutes nowadays 1
Ukase Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I suspect this is a display glitch. I'll elaborate. I could most certainly be wrong, but if I use the market on Character 1, and finish my business, log off, and then log in Character 2, when I open the AH - I see the exact same things I saw for character 1. But only for about 5-20 seconds. If after a fair 20 seconds all your icons were just as they were before you respec'd, I would open the enhancement management screen and see if the server actually registered your final "Finished/Done" click at the end. If you don't click that - it's like the respec never happened. I suspect it's one of those 2 scenarios: 1. Display delay or 2. Respec never finalized.
lemming Posted September 9 Posted September 9 (edited) I posted about it earlier, but it's known. Though more advertisement for it is good. It's handy Edited September 9 by lemming forgot link... 1 2

Given what I don't see on the wiki about donations, I might need to invest in new memory. Edited September 9 by Ukase Didn't see something
WuTang Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 Nope. I finished the respec and it finalized. And the powers in the trays from one toon to the other are not the same. And the power tray has not changed since the "loophole" occurred, so it seems to be permanent. @lemming in your case, did you change powers to some that you did not have before? That could explain your partial refill vs. my total refill.

And on this occasion, I'd actually forgotten to take a pic.

I was actually retiring the character and stripping for parts, so in that case I think I just picked all the primary/secondary plus enough of a pool. Mr. Bad Example was a fun EB/MC blaster, but wasn't being played. I had just done the same with another character, and used him to do the "Did that just happen and can I recreate it?" That could explain your partial refill vs. my total refill. If you respec and only change slotting, with the powers taken in the same order like WuTang did and then zone or log off the powers in the tray will go back to exactly how they were before the respec. Rest and the prestige runs will just plop themselves in places, I haven't figured out/don't remember the pattern. If you change the level you take a power or pick something you didn't have before those will be placed logically but you may have to arrange them to your preference. I zone every single time I do a respec and that fixes my power trays. 2 Are you looking for Ultramode style, candy coated enhancements and powers? WELL YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!! (they're also in the City Mod installer)

Lusiphur Malache Posted September 9 Posted September 9 This happened to me too, I finished a respec, but fell asleep before traying powers, game logged me out, when I logged back in I expected the worst, but all my powers were back close to where I would have put them. First I thought I did it myself, but a couple temp powers I never tray were.

Psyonico Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I suspect this is caused by the same thing that causes power trays to be blank if you log out of a level 1 character without either moving a power or zoning. 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
Uncle Shags Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I always respec by the train. If you take a train ride right after your respec your power trays are 95% the way they were. The game sticks you with dumb stuff like walk and brawl, but most everything goes back to were it goes. When I first found this out I mentioned it in help chat. No one responded, so I assumed everyone knew this.

Did screw around with it yesterday and as long as you don't move anything in the trays after the respec, and zone elsewhere, you'll get your trays populated with what powers you still had where you had them pre-respec. Which is nice in that all those temp powers, accolades, macros and the like are where you might have them instead of taking up the first few trays. 1
