bedeviler Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I was thinking that a new pet power set based on elementals would be a good addition. It could be broken down into even a power set for the 4 different elements if desired. Fire Elementals would specialize in damage and could deal DoTs. The power set for the fire elementals could be based on the fire power set. Water Elementals could specialize in healing and utility powers or could also be based on the water power sets. Air Elementals could be based on the Storm power set. And last but not least, Earth Elementals could be based on the stone power sets. The first summons could be based more on the melee powers. The second could be a mix of melee and ranged, along the lines of a Sentinel or a Defender. The last summon could be set up along the lines of a Blaster or Corrupter depending on the elemental type. The non summon powers of the set can be based from the same as for the elemental types that you summon. The damage powers scaled down in damage as your pets are supposed to be your main powers after all. and the buff powers could unlock the higher leveled powers the same as for the other pet power sets. What do all of you think of this idea. Masterminds have the fewest power sets to choose from and I thought this would add up to 4 different power sets as well as flavor (magic) power sets. 1
megaericzero Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Elemental henchmen have come up before. It's a decent suggestion overall. Suggestions are pretty split between whether they should be individual sets, a mish-mash of fixed elements, or a swap-style mechanic like Dual Pistols, Bio Armor, and Staff Fighting.
FDR's Think Tank Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Since Controllers already really HAVE elemental Summons... it MIGHT be better to consider something Elemental in nature that would have more intelligence than your typical Elemental for a Mastermind Minion Set. For instance: Genie Mastermind: Summons Elemental Djinn to fight for him. You could make the "elemental swap" function work like some sort of "Limited Infinite Wishing" and have it so you can swap between three (Which leaves an "Aether" element for when none is selected) Elemental Sets for Djinn: 1. Storm Djinn -Basic Summons - Wind, Thunder, and Rain - Intermediate Summons - Blizzard and Sandstorm - Advanced Summon - Lightning 2. Inferno Djinn -Basic Summons - Smoke, Flame, and Burst - Intermediate Summons - Mirage and Magma - Advanced Summon - Nuclear 3. Moonlight Djinn -Basic Summons - Shade, Freeze, and Starlight - Intermediate Summons - Wax and Wane - Advanced Summon - Tidal Although... I really don't know where to go with the null selection "Aether" Djinn Set. 1
Chris24601 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Aether is often associated with the realm of the spirit or mind so I’d say base it off the various psionic power sets. 1
