Heliopause Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) I used this new AI tool called NotebookLLM to automatically generate a podcast based on the old City of Heroes manual. Some of the info is out of date and there are a few hallucinations here and there but it is truly mind blowing. Take a listen in the link below. EDIT: DOH! discovered you have to have a general Google account to access it, but of course they did that. Amazing AI generated City of Heroes podcast Edited September 29 by Heliopause 3
Doomguide2005 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 My wife and I have dubbed "them" Paul and Kelly (the two voices the AI uses to mimick a pair of Podcasters). She's been following all things closely for over a year now. She's worked with NotebookLLM since its release. It can be quite entertaining feeding them stuff and watching the responses.
Andreah Posted September 30 Posted September 30 This is an awesome tool. Imperfect, sure, but still Awesome.
Andreah Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Try taking your character description and/or any stories you have written about them and having it create a podcast.

ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) It's a neat little tool... though being someone who works in this space, it's worryingly good. Previously, when we've been looking for scammy auto-generated audio, it's been garbage, music clips, static, or recycled clips from other shows, all of which are relatively easy to detect. Having tried it on a couple of colleagues, this is... not easy, unless you know about the topic at hand. Even then, if the machine learning bit had more material to work with than a single source, it might be able to create a better summarisation to work from. Might have given me an idea for something to try out. Only downside, it's a serious net hog to load up (Kicked me out of game, and off the net for about fifteen minutes to just load it up to give it a full listen!) Andreah Posted October 19 Posted October 19 The NotebookLM tool has been released out of experimental, and has had some changes. For example, you can now tell it what to focus on in the podcast it produces. SO, you can give it a bunch of links to HC Wiki pages that are relevant, and then include your character's short bio, and tell it to describe your character and how they fit into the setting, and it will do that. Before, if the reference material was much more voluminous than your character bio, it would just talk about the setting and not your character.
Triumphant Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I follow Wes Roth's Youtube, so I had actually seen this before (well, a different podcast, but still). It's certainly impressive in the scope of what can be done with it. A.I. still has a lot of gaps and flaws that need to be corrected for, but once (if?) they solve things like hallucinations and what not, it's going to transform society. Of course, those changes are likely to both bad and good, as is the case with all new technologies. Let us hope the changes are less of the former and more of the latter.
Kyksie Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Given that it mentions bases with workshops and defensive turrets, I'm guessing you used the City of Villains manual?
