Whirling mace seemed pretty lackluster, so I swapped it for bash with no other changes to my build.  My overall attack pace now seems faster  with  more animation flow, I have not seen any downside so far.   are there any situations where I will really miss not having this power, or could I have slotted it better to make more use of it.? (Procs etc)

here are both versions of the build.  like I said they are identical except for one has WM and the other has bash.

any advice or changes welcome.

If you have enough recharge to rely exclusively on Crowd Control and Shield Charge for your AoE moves - and it looks like you do - then go for it. I question your endurance situation, but you didn't ask about that, so not really my business. Whirling mace *IS* kind of lackluster, its saving grace is that it's really easy to use, being a PBAoE rather than a cone. With your recharge, I'd suggest taking something else in stead of Bash - possibly move some powers around to get Moonbeam form Soul Mastery. Bash is quite lackluster as well. Maybe even taking something other than attack, given your recharge and that you already have Pulverize, Jawbreaker, and Clobber as purely single target attacks, and Shatter as melee cone/single target hybrid attack.

It's going to depend on your playstyle and your slotting and your difficulty settings, but I find it to be a headscratcher.  I'm guessing that you have Bash, Pulverize, Jawbreaker, Clobber all as single target attacks and are getting all your AoE from Shatter (small cone), Crowd Control, and Shield Charge?
