Rad/Sonic Corruptor - ideas

I love the idea of a Rad/Sonic due to the inherent -def and -res from the powers, but am having a very hard time making a viable build for it. 

 

I'm already pretty bad at making builds, even after spending a lot of time in Pines trying different sets out.  Spent a couple hours working on one last week and came up with nothing but crap.

 

Anyone here got a viable build for this combo?  Ideas?  I'm having issues with what Rad powers to select and also ran out of slots when trying to get my Defense and Resistances up there. 

 

Some people are really great at builds and I'm not one of those people.  I scrutinize set bonuses and go for the sets that give me recharge, defense, and res for what I want but can't put anything together that works.  Not seeing any builds here or on the archive of the old forums at archive.org

Are you going with rad blast for the -res procs? Why not go Sonic/Sonic? Also, have you considered a Sonic/Sonic defender? It seems like it may be more in line with what you want to do and it will have better defenses due to the better modifiers on defender powers (not too mention the better -res modifiers on the defender's too).

 

At mid to late game -def just isn't that great of a debuff unfortunately. Most people max their acc (95%) to +3 bosses anyway. So it just doesn't add much if anything to a teams kill potential. Not to mention that a lot of people have tactics to help the team and help themselves reach instasnipes.

 

I can certainly make you a build, but before I start I'd like to get a better understanding of what you want to do. I like my corruptors to get up close and personal with mobs, typically maxing s/l def and e if I can, while hardcapping s/l resists.

Re: other ATs and power sets, I'm not interested in a Defender or a Sonic/Sonic for this character. 

 

What I'm looking for?  A functional build for a Rad/Sonic Corruptor.  What I want to do is pretty standard for what most people would want out of a build: softcapped defense (I prefer softcapping melee and ranged if I can), decent resistance, good recharge.  The end result would be a Rad/Sonic Corruptor that would have a good attack chain and makes the most of the support secondary.  I liked the idea of Rad and Sonic together because you've got debuffs on both Defense and Resistance and that sounds like a good combo to me.

 

I found this build on the old forums and it seems decent enough.  Certainly better than what I came up with.

Ok, so this is a 50 INCARNATE build I made based on what you want and what I generally like. I'm not a fan of cones, so I didnt take that attack and you have enough recharge to take a higher attack chain attack. I'm a huge fan of the FF recharge proc with a sudden acceleration kb to kd IO in powers like sonic dispersion and repel. It provides more damage mitigation than you think with KD for your tank/brute/scrapper/ally and you get a pretty good chance of the 100% recharge proc firing. I don't like liquefy as its recharge is enormous and its just not that effective a power at 50. Anyway, this will give you a high dps attack chain, instasnipe with soul drain (should be perma with 1-2 ff procs), and almost perma hasten (perma with 1 FF proc). You are also capped to s/l res and softcapped to s/l def. You have one endurance recovery power in consumption and good lord will you need it. I wouldn't recommend touching this build without having a T3 ageless, or if you do, you'll need to decide if you want to attack or turn on your toggles or partner with a emp/kin/pain. This is rad/sonic/dark. This build was posted using the 2.23 hero designer available on these forums.

And here is a more sane build that takes cardiac. To say that I am concerned about the end drain of your sonic powers would be a huge understatement. For most things, I would use this as it gives you the ability to heal yourself and another person, although not super well. Still, some heals are more support and better than nothing. I was chasing recharge and support and endurance as much as I could with this build. In general, I'd go with this over the other build, unless you are looking to be a one man army with your incarnate powers.
