Is SS / Stone a bad idea?

Went through all 14 pages, and not one post about this combo. Is there a reason it's not suggested? And yes, I know that you can pretty much pair any 2 powers and make it work, but I'd rather not be starting from a disadvantage if I can avoid it. 🙂

Your question is not answered much or brought up because its a fatiguing bone of contention its like asking ''hey guys what woman should I look for'' everyone is like damn dude I mean play the field what do you even like? do you like big dumb blonde girls or do you like petite Athletic latinas etc etc none of them are a bad idea unless you have zero interest in them and they don't fit you. My friend had a tiny japanese GF (Split up now) who used to physically assault him in public and he said that was the happiest he'd ever been...me personally i'd of drop kicked her through plate glass but ce la vie to each their own.

 

Explain to people what it is you want an AT to do...then we can narrow things down for you and eliminate other AT's

Generally, was thinking about it for general leveling, occasional TF's, that sort of thing. Not looking for a hardcore farmer or anything like that, just found it interesting that this combo had not come up once on the forum. 😉

It's hard to recommend Super Strength in its current incarnation; rage -def crash is now unavoidable, and your reliance on it will be challenged already by Granite's recharge penalties.   If you rolled a Super Strength anything, my advice is to level an alt. 

 

If all you want to do is hit things and be as tough as you can be, I'd recommend Dark Melee combined with Invuln, Willpower, or Shields.  Dark Melee's -tohit debuffs, single target control, and fast charging self heal that's also a fairly good attack will enhance any defense set (including /Stone) and make other sets as tough as Granite without its esthetic or playstyle annoyances.  You won't have to live in Granite as much if you go DM/Stone; the synergy between -tohit and defense is quite powerful.   You'll be able to get there in time on those Council catwalk maps.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know. Looks like I'll skip  SS for now and play with other ideas 🙂
