Tankshock Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Anyone know where there are numbers for Pack Mentality and Fortify Pack, so I can make informed decisions on when to use them? Thanks!
KnightSoul Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Here's what the Wayback Machine has from Red Tomax's data. source.Cur.kMeter * 0.1 + 0.05) * @Strength All Defense Types, All Defense Positions for 60s Whatever that means in English. Pack Mentality stacks 10 times and adds fast and drops fast. I still haven't figured out good usage timing for Fortify Pack yet. Looks like hitting it right after clearing the group before a boss would be fairly useful.
Adeon Hawkwood Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 source.Cur.kMeter * 0.1 + 0.05) * @Strength All Defense Types, All Defense Positions for 60s Whatever that means in English. Basically it means they get 5% defense plus an additional 1% defense for each stack of Pack Mentality you have. Similarly the regeneration buff appears to be 100% base plus 20% for each stack of Pack Mentality. It looks like behind the scenes Pack Mentality is actually treated as a meter rather than a stacked buff. Each instance of the buff gives you 10% meter charge. So with (for example) 5 stacks the defense would be 0.5 * 0.1 + 0.05 = 0.1 or 10% defense. Regarding the other part of OPs question Pines says that the damage bonus from PM is 2% per stack but I haven't checked that in game. 1 1 Defender Smash!
KnightSoul Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Just checked in game, Pack Mentality is indeed 2% damage per stack. And thanks for the math explanation.
Tankshock Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 Thanks - so PM gives dam buff and def buff? Why pop Fortify Pack in that case?
Adeon Hawkwood Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 No, PM just gives a damage buff. The Defense and Regen numbers I listed are for Fortify Pack. Defender Smash!
KnightSoul Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 I've had no luck finding what the critical rate is from Fortify Pack. Not in game, Red Tomax, Paragon Wiki, nor Pine's Hero Planner. At least where I've looked. If no one wiser comes through with the info, I'll get some combat logs tomorrow to at least confirm crits are occurring.
grinningsphinx Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Ive observed that crit chance does seem to be related to level of your pet vs level of target after a lot of hours in Rikti warzone...the wolves almost never get a crit on anything, and its pretty much only coming from the DW at +4.
Tankshock Posted May 23, 2019 Author Posted May 23, 2019 So, given that my pets are always over 50% defense, there really is no reason to take Fortify Pack?
Adeon Hawkwood Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Well it does also give a passive crit bonus but since we don't know how large that is we can't really say if that makes it worth it or not, Defender Smash!
Galaxy Brain Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 It appears to be 10% per stack... which could be 1.1x the base crit chance given they crit naturally without Fortify Pack?
KnightSoul Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 The code is out there, someone with the right skills could probably find the data fast. I lack those skills. I'd be lucky to find it before the heat death of the universe.
Tankshock Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 Given how hard it is to get 5 defense powers, it's probably worth it just as a Luck mule (combined with the small crit).
Trickshooter Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Well it does also give a passive crit bonus but since we don't know how large that is we can't really say if that makes it worth it or not, "Also, as an added bonus, simply purchasing it gives your pets a 2% chance to critically hit per stack of Pack Mentality." Adeon Hawkwood Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 So an extra 20% at full stack, that's pretty good. Defender Smash!
