Glad to see I'm not the only one. I just posted about this after filing a bug report. Hope it's addressed and fixed. I agree you feel silly knowing that no one sees your weapon.

As reported, my Katana isn't animating correctly. First when I pull out the Katana I have chosen in tailor, (VK-99 Event Horizon) I can see it myself, but the stance is just generic attack stance, hence the katana is going through my head and I am holding it with only my left hand. Second, no one else can see the weapon at all. It appears to others as if I am not holding any weapon and just standing in attack stance. In the tailor it shows when I select the different Katanas that it is a 2 handed grip in front of the character, even the VK-99. However in game it is not working.
