  1. I see a lot of builds use this power, but am unsure why.  Since it is a typed defense and not positional, you have to slot for typed defense which is much harder to do.

Now, having said that, perhaps I am missing a key factor in Defense.  Is the reason because if you are hit with a "smashing/energy" attack, your Smashing Defense will be applied to both halves of the power and most attacks have a S/L component so essentially S/L defense covers most damage?

    Thanks!

debuffs from separate sources should stack,  debuff from the same sources may or may not stack depending on the power.

What qualifies as a source?  From what I know, Sonic T1 and T2 are both 20%, but they do not stack.  If the player is a source then Sonic Attack and a TA Resistance debuff do not stack, removing the use of Sonic, which is only made ok with the Resistance debuff.

  3. I have an Earth/Earth Dom on the go and I was wondering which I should take.  Quicksand is a T-AoE 90% slow, so is handy, but Mud Pots is a PBAoE damage aura toggle, with a 50% slow.  I wonder if Earthquake kind of makes Quicksand less of a need.

    Any input would be helpful.

I'm not sure what the ask here is, outside of iTrials/special events there is no minimum team size anymore.

True, but people expect to be on xp teams, so this is a way for people to specifically find like minded players.  Adjust the rewards if necessary.  The obvious answer is to just make it a request as you LFG, but nobody does that.

Add it as an option is Search?  Not sure, but this is not a hard thing to find ideas.

  5. Problem: Need for more variety in the game.

    Solution 1:
Official Option for small teams.  We can choose to set teams to smaller sizes, but players are not expecting it.  Every team is always "LF3M" so that is the expectation.  Support for teams < 5 would be great.  I prefer teams in the 2-4 range as there is more intimacy, more banter, more obvious roles and your impact is more evident.

    Solution 2:
Cloning SG mates to NPCs, or a similar type of option.  I enjoy the randomness of having an NPC sidekick, so it would be nice to have the ability to sidekick an NPC with costumes, ATs and powersets based on player characters.  If that is too hard, perhaps simplified versions of the Costume-AT.
Have a stable of NPCs ala the Costume Slots, and select one after you enter a mission solo.  If you add another member to your team, the NPC disappears after 60 seconds.  If your NPC dies, your rewards are diminished by 25%, if they survive, they are buffed by 5%, or something that is appropriate.

  6. I have recently taken up a KM/SR scrapper and I really like it.  I don't play like a robot trying to get the highest DPS I can.  I just enjoy trying to get the damage from Power Siphon and taking stuff out as fast as possible, but when you are in game, it isn't so smooth.

One thing that is not mentioned is that Concentrated Strike has a bonus base accuracy, 90% vs 75% for normal powers.  It also has a higher DPS than all but Smashing Blow, so it is a good choice when the PS buff is off but your damage bonus is still high.  It is fun to take out a mob with one CS running at 150%+ damage bonus.

I find repulsing Torrent to be fun from time to time and the PBAoE packs a wallop when boosted.

My basic play is to find the Boss, throw Weaken Resolve, PS, follow, drive up the damage bonus and then Burst.  If I have a number of lowbies, I tend to switch targets if I can then Burst.

What is the average damage bonus?  No idea, but over 60% seems reasonable for sure, and when you Burst at 150%+ you get solid results.

Not entirely. Travel speed is also a factor, if you are using fly they are chasing after you and are in danger for longer than if you are using SS or SJ. With SS and SJ you are usually outdistancing them  enough that they are regularly having to respawn closer to you, rather than running the entire distance through spawns.

Ahhhh, this seems likley.  I have a passive bind and that didn't work, so speed is the issue.  I need to get them out of my range asap.

If you don't mind me asking, why aren't your bots fully slotted at level 41?  My bots/time is only 28, and I'm six slotted on drones and protectors, 3 slotted on assault, with sets in T1 and T3.  Where are your slots going, if not in your bots?

What I do is use a "goto" bind to charge the bots into spawns, and then drop distortion field on top of them.  depending on difficulty and end usage, I'll set temporal mending on autofire, then hit high value targets with my debuffs.  I'm currently running missions at +2/0, with no issues.

They are 6 slotted, but not IO slotted

  9. Hi MMs, I want to appreciate this AT, but what I find is that I am spending a lot of time resummoning and upgrading my bots (I'm Bots/Time).  Heck I even have to summon then after travelling as they get picked off as I travel from mission to mission.

There are up to 5 powers to get them up and running and a minimum of 3.  During missions I end up resummoning a few times per map.  I recall one time I just gave up and kept just the assault bot.

I don't have it fully slotted out as I am just lvl 41, but still I have a good build with Maneuvers, farsight etc.

One thing I may be doing wrong is debuffing the mobs with my PBAoE.  Time Juncture is a PBAoE debuff so generally I jump into the fray and debuff.  This may be drawing my bots in too close and this is why they are getting picked off so often, but the debuff is worth the tradeoff in terms of combat, but not in terms of fun.

Is this just the way the MM plays, or can I make changes to keep the bots alive more frequently.

  10. And now for something completely different.  I present Doom Fog.  Doom Fog is the psychic manifestation of a troubled teenage psychic girl.  Her therapist recommended she fight crime to build her confidence.

DF is a bit hard to play because I have no idea which direction she is facing, but I just find the concept so different from everything else.  This is a Cloud path aura, with the Thunderhead aura, Radiation armor and stealth to boot.  Oh, I removed her head to make the character as small as possible.  She is a fire/rad Sentinel and all her powers are black/black of course.

  11. Thanks, this is certainly a good thing to consider for Hover Blasters and I have wondered about that.

Regarding melee, I doubt there is a way to do what I mentioned without a teleport power.  I will try that on my Savage Melee toon for fun, using /powexec_loc.

  12. I see a few builds use Vengence.  Can you use that on a dead pet or just a teammate?

Can MMs use /powexec_location with their pets?  I think the usage is /powexec_location <loc> <power> so it seems unlikely, but it might be good to organize your pets in a formation for some reason or another.

    Thanks!
