  1. You are going to get hit with DR, meaning diminished returns. Sentnels along with all other ranged toons, other then Widows or Banes, are going to get hit hard as well. Defense in PVP being ranged or melee is not going to be a game changer.

    Counterpoint:

Because of all the healing, endurance, and layered protection you generate between dark and bio, you are free to offensively proc slot (and be in Offensive Adaptation) a *lot* more than if you were to use the utility tools for utility sakes. You can reliably proc out for damage:

    Siphon Life

    Soul Drain

    Dark Consumption

    Midnight Grasp

    DNA Siphon

And maybe a few others but honestly you're gonna want some set bonuses.

There's probably other sets that do it better, but OP's point that this combo does good damage due to proc slotting ia valid.

    You got this one right.

Sure, I mean, but not particularly paired with Bio. The utility are the small heal and the endurance but Bio has its own tools for those and thus they are superfluous. The damage... welp, Dark is midling even when capable of rounding enough enemies to power Soul Drain and the AoE is forgettable.

What's making you starry eyed are the procs and the raw damage of MG but that's a single target T9 for ya. If you're having fun then do continue because I'm not here to piss on your parade but Dark Melee is not very special outside its utility and this pairing does not make use of it unlike something like Stone Armor or Shield who would welcome a heal and endurance.

Without any sarcasm I'm glad you've found a combo you're enjoying though.

Umm small heal and damage midling of the pack, that is let's see a 389 hp heal every 5 seconds and a proc monster equals your well below pissing on any grave

Strange, in Mids it's showing Mesmerize and Dominate as the same damage but Dominate is a much shorter animation.

I did a respec and found mental blast and dominate at 45, not mids estimate.

  5. So your taunt aura is not going to be as strong as a brute or tank, second your fire resistance will not cap to 90 like a brute or tank, fire defense you get from sets mostly and you want to aim for 45 minimum. I could see the offensive potential, but go with a brute.

  6. I took Mezmerize and Harmonic mind and they are absolutley beautiful. Mesmerize hit pretty hard and Harmonic mind takes all your end issues away. Mental Blast and Dominate hit like wet noodles, alond with psionic tornado.

  7. So at this point Felix Necro/Dark is a power house even after the changes made to them. It is in my opinion the strongest MM pairing in my opinion and my MM is my favorite. My Necro/Dark is a very very tight build, but it covers all the areas very well. I do have a lot of feedback for your build, I would love to show you my MM in action. Are you on Everlasting at all? If so look me up or send me a tell to @widow and would be more than willing to help you with your build.

  8. DM will pair nicely with anything, but the to hit debuff screams a defensive set. Such would be SR, Nin, Energy, etc., but it would be up to you. Oh and my all time favorite is Shield defense.

  9. Hey everyone just seeing this post on D/D brutes and I have one myself. They can be built very very durable, but Snarky commented on the most important part of the armor set. My dark brute was built around massive Hit debuffing, fear, and disorients. This alone with your dark regeneration, will keep you chugging along easily. My build is very very hybrid indeed, but I found that minus to hit is king with Dark brutes.

  10. It really is a pretty hardy blaster for sure and can kill with astonishing speed. I have had some really great feedback from players during and after, group ITF's. My Blaster, many times,  will just keep chewing up mobs and still keep standing.

I can never stick with a blaster, although ranged (and pets, stealth) are my preferred play style. Ok, I'm giving this combo a serious go now! 😉

The highest I've ever gotten was low 40s ice/fire way back in the live days (Kelvin Ator - my first toon actually :). I now have 60 toons on HC, with at least the 1st 2 pages played to the teens and a 39 + few 20s.

Being a casual scrub, I must be doing something wrong with my blasters. I know they are generally best played a blappers, but I really don't like melee, except maybe on my stalkers. So, playing keepings off strictly at range, with the option to bypass trash/content I don't want to do, that leaves 2 secondaries - Devices or Ninjitsu for the stealth power - much prefer Ninj for the look/theme and powers from what I can see (but yet to try). Dark as primary is a no-brainer for me as part of the theme I'm going with (plus I just love it on all my other ATs :). It's got the lowest sniper power at lvl 8 (still can't beat my psychic corr at 2nd!), so I'll let you know how I go, especially as I get past 10th and get Shinobi - should change the entire approach to completing missions I hope.

Hopefully the squishiness I always fall prey of with my blasters won't be as bad with this toon, given all the tricks dark and ninjitsu have up their sleeves! 🙂

My Dark Ninjitsu Blaster is paired with Ice Mastery with all the goodies including Hoar Frost and Hibernate. No squisheness here at all.

  12. Dark/Ninjitsu hands down my go to for pure raw damage and survival. 3 proc all your attacks with the Shinobi critics and you will have a AT that puts out absurd damage like no other toon. It's an insanely ridiculous death machine.

  13. Soul Extraction is on a shorter CD than any other MM summon, including gang War. The ghosts are alot more durable that the paper thin posse. Finally the damage the dead will put out with a clouded senses proc in Soul Extraction will Trump anything including Gang War. The icing of the cake is to add dark servant to the 14 pets and you have a morgue.

  14. I have a Dark melee/Ninjitsu scrapper who is absurdly tough and dishes the pain lol. So my suggestion for siphon life is to 2 slot hetacomb Acc/rech/dam and damage IO +5 and this will cap your damage. Then throw in 3 procs with a +5 heal IO and now you have a heavy hitting attack with a decent heal. Slotting a preventative medicine set for the set bonuses is a major mistake. You can have best of both with the above slotting. Also you are losing out on a significant amount of Dps.
