UPDATE: I've discovered that if I close the Friends window before zoning then re-open it after zoning it doesn't reset back to "Server". It only resets if I leave the window open. This isn't a practical solution but I thought this info might help with troubleshooting the problem.

My Friends list window keeps randomly resetting whenever I change zones or go to my supergroup base. If I set it to any of the 3 default options (Server, Global Friends, or Global Ignore) then it remembers my selection when I zone. However, when I select my supergroup's custom chat channel and zone it randomly resets the selection to "Server" and I have to manually change it back, which is frustrating. I like to keep the window open so I can see who is online in our SG custom chat channel. I even tried creating a new custom chat channel and selecting it in the Friends window but the window still resets back to "Server" when zoning. It resets about 90% of the time for me. Note, I recently reinstalled the game using the homemade launcher (vs. the old Tequila installation) but I never really used the Friends list before so I have no idea if this problem is related. Everything else in the new install seems to be working fine.
