If this is still being updated, I'd appreciate it if my list is also added to the list.

I try, but it's hard to break in when I've got a very limited and sporadic schedule. Of course, jumping on these forums and adding my characters is making me feel a little more motivated, so once I get my computer working again, I'll probably make a stronger effort than I have in the past.

Super Hero ID: Vybrant
Secret ID: Valerie Vasant
Known Powers: Energy Projection, Flight
Affiliations: S.E.R.A.P.H.
Origin: Valerie worked for a high-energy research firm, a subsidiary for Portal Corporation, in a lab focused on developing clean, safe energy. After the Rikti invasion, her company was formed as many of the power plants had been severely damaged, and they were tasked with the rebuilding and eventual renovation of Paragon City's power infrastructure. Their efforts were so successful that they were also contracted as part of the War Walls project, providing power generation for the massive force fields dividing and protecting the city's various districts. As things began to settle down, her company was eventually bought out by Portal Corp, who was looking for new methods to power their various endeavors, and Valerie's division was specifically tasked with creating smaller, more portable sources of power.
Valerie, certain she was inching closer to a breakthrough, was working late one night when a group of Clockwork broke into the lab, planning to steal the experimental research for their own purposes. Knowing it was hopeless to fight but too indignant to care, Valerie tried to stop the Clockwork minions. A stray blast caught one of the containment chambers and started a chain reaction. Their plans foiled, the Clockwork grabbed what they could and fled, leaving Valerie to try to stop the reaction from reaching the primary generator, but she was unsuccessful. The resulting blast destroyed the entire lab, and Valerie was presumed dead at the scene, though no body was found.
A week later she was found wandering the streets, blocks away from the lab, with no memory of how she got there. Though most of her memory has returned, the details of that night were lost, along with most of her knowledge of the research; but by the same token, she herself had been infused by the unstable energy, allowing her to project blasts and even fly. Now she fights crime as much out of necessity as out of a sense of duty, because the energy continues to build up in her system unless she finds a way to release it... So release it she does, against Clockwork when she can, and against other criminals wherever she finds them.- 1

Super Hero ID: Flux-Ion
Secret ID: Nico Escuderas
Known Powers: Force Field Generation, Electricity Generation, Flight, limited teleportation
Affiliations: D.A.T.A.
Origin: Nico grew up in Paragon City, following the Rikti invasion. The only world he's ever known has been bounded by the War Walls and involved super-powered heroes and villains duking it out in the streets. It wasn't surprising to those who knew him well when he first confided in them that he was working on a super suit; after all, in a world like this, what child didn't dream of growing up to be a superhero at some point? His parents were mostly just happy that he hadn't decided to dabble in the dark arts or screw around with dangerous chemicals or radiation. After all, most kids grew out of their superhero obsession and tried to live productive lives and ignore the constant war raging on around them, content in the knowledge that the heroes hadn't failed to save the city so far, despite all the troubles. Nico never quite gave up on his dreams, pulling the suit out of storage periodically before packing it back away again, until eventually life caught up, and he stopped.
That is, until the Shivan Meteor. Nico had just graduated high school and was taking a break before he was due to ship off to M.I.T. His elder brother Julio, a doctor, had brought his wife and newborn son back to Paragon City after years away, and had stopped in to see Nico's tiny apartment that he shared with two of his high school buddies. In the confusion following the impact, Nico lost touch with his brother, and backtracked back to his apartment, hoping to find them; instead he found his old super suit, fallen from the top of his closet. Still experimental, he knew that it might be the only way to survive and find his family.
Luck was on his side; he found them, hiding and confused in a grocery store being used as a temporary shelter with many more displaced people. Julio asked him to escort his wife and son, and as many people as he could, to the safe zone being established by PPD and Longbow. He did the best he could, and his force fields managed to save several lives that day, but when he got back to the grocery store for the second round, he was met with tragedy. A gas line had exploded and collapsed part of the building. Julio had managed to get several people out, but went back in for some too injured to move themselves, and had been caught in a secondary collapse. Numb, Nico had led the survivors to the safe zone and continued to help out until he was all but carried onto a transport to Atlas Park.
His dreams of M.I.T. forgotten, Flux-Ion now patrols the streets, taciturn and determined to save as many as he can.

Super Hero ID: Tri-Nitro
Secret ID: Dyne Midas
Known Powers: Super-strong, super-tough, super-friendly
Affiliations: G.I.F.T.
Origin: Dyne was born to well-off parents in a small town in central Texas. Born a month pre-mature and concerningly underweight, Dyne was otherwise a supremely healthy child, and soon demonstrated his winning attitude and unusual vitality. While he was never as big as any of the kids his age and seemed to fall further behind by the year on his growth milestones, he never let that stop him, always striving to be the fastest, the strongest and the most capable. For all of his startling successes though, it never went to his head; his parents, bewildered as they were by their child, nonetheless instilled in him the values of humility and charity, which he took to heart, quickly becoming well-liked by all of the people in his small town. Well, most of them; there was one sort of person that Dyne could never abide, and that was bullies. He quickly made it clear to the bullies in his town that he was not an easy target, but he never left it at that; so long as he was around, no one would ever be made a victim.
In time, his quest to protect and improve the lives of the people around him outgrew his small town, and he went away to college in Dallas, where he met his first superheroes, and got his own start as "TNT" (because dynamite comes in small packages). After graduating from college, he followed the scuttlebutt that said that, for superheroes, Paragon City was the place to make your mark. So wishing his family a fond farewell and promising to write, Dyne set off for the east coast and the singular place known as Paragon City.
Once in town he registered under the new name Tri-Nitro and has been bringing his strong fists and cheerful smile to the aid of its citizens.

Super Hero ID: Errant
Secret ID: Darius Wolfe
Known Powers: expert swordsman, shield, magical teleportation and healing
Affiliations: M.A.G.I.
Origin: Darius was a squire of the Knightly Order of Ysgir, and like all squires, his promotion to full knighthood involved the Errantry ritual; young knights were sent via teleportation magic to where they were needed most, and to deal with what they found there before making their way back to the cloister for their confirmation. This was the normal routine.
What was not routine was where Darius found himself. A strange city aflame and crumbling, with rock-like golems attacking citizens and being held back by brightly-clad warriors with a dizzying array of magics. Darius, schooled to be prepared for anything, leapt to the defense of the citizens, and followed the directions of those who seemed aware of what was going on. When the fight was over, he found himself sitting down with a representative of a group called M.A.G.I. who took his story and explained to him where he was: Paragon City, on a world called Earth, far from the world that he'd called home.
Now working under the alias Errant, he continues to uphold his oath, defending the people of Paragon City. One day he may find a way to return home, but until then his sword will strike down evil and his shield will defend the helpless.

Fellow neurokin (Neurodiverse peoples) A quick introduction please?
in Everlasting

I'm going to answer this one in reverse: I heard about Homecoming on some MMO site, don't ask me which one. I haven't kept up with CoH since some early reading right when I heard about the private servers a little while after the official servers went offline. I did follow City of Titans for a while, but the dev team and the community were a little abrasive (I may get some flack for that 'cause I recognize at least one signature line here that I saw over there...) and it started to look like maybe the game wasn't going to be done any time soon. I still liked what they were going for, but I felt like there were some key differences between what I loved about CoH and what they did. So I stepped away and gave up on City of Heroes coming back in any major way. When I read the news that Homecoming had gotten officially greenlit to run legally, it peaked my interest, and I asked a friend about it; she said she played occasionally, so eventually I bit the bullet and jumped back in.
As for Everlasting, here on these forums. I'd moved my characters to Reunion because she mentioned she had rebuilt some of her characters there, and I really wanted to play with her.. But other than once when she was renaming some characters, I've yet to see her on, even knowing that I'm back and playing. I guess she's moved on, too. So I figured I'd better find some other folks to play with, and roleplay was always one of the things we loved best, so here I am, on the 'unofficial' roleplay server.
I honestly don't remember most of the server names? I kinda remember Virtue, but I'm not even sure if that's where we played primarily. I want to say it was Pinnacle where my friend group went to create a bunch of new characters for a Super Group story line (Descendents) but we mostly played on another server. My friend was Psionique on her main, but she had a dozen at least (Thaumatique, Psionique's brother, being the one that comes quickest to mind) My mains have mostly stayed the same 4, which I'll mention in more detail below. Another buddy of mine who stayed even after I left had a whole spreadsheet for his characters and played on half a dozen servers at least, but he died a couple years back, so I know I'll never run into him.
Probably that it's one of the best games out there for alt-aholics like me? Super heroes is take-it-or-leave-it, but I do like the world, and there so much variety to choose from. Aside from that, mostly it was my friend group and how much we all roleplayed in CoH. Most of us eventually went on to WoW when it came out (we all jumped in during the beta) but over there, the roleplay stopped almost entirely, and with no way to easily play across level gaps, we drifted apart. Eventually I stopped playing MMOs altogether for a long time, and I jumped back into City of Heroes literally weeks before they announced they were shutting it down. I had some good RP in MMOs prior to CoH, but not much since, and it's definitely the thing I miss most.
I'm not. My experience with SGs, guilds, factions, corporations, clans, etc. is that they end up gravitating to end-game content, and the almost universal insistence on the idea that endgame is where the game 'truly begins' bores me to tears. I love leveling up, playing through stories and making them part of my own. Getting to max level is of almost negative interest to me. It's what's disappointed me most so far about coming back to CoH; I rarely see heroes running the streets or doing door missions. All of the LFG chat is about DFB and other raids and TFs. I'm very much interested in running through those stories, but not with strangers. I want to find a group of like-minded folks who will roleplay the fuck out of it, emoting and arguing and such during the fights, making the TF's story their own, and who are willing to take their time. I'm hoping that coming to Everlasting, I might find some like-minded folks, but I've only been here a very short time, and mostly I still see the same stuff. People definitely put more effort into their costumes, and more folks have bios which is certainly heartening, but I've seen almost no street-level RP.
I'm a 40-something married father of 4, recently retired from the U.S. military and I work in IT. Games of various sorts have been my primary hobby for my entire life, but life's pretty busy these days, so I have to lean back a little. Aside from City of Heroes, I play Valheim with my wife, and cycle through a variety of other games. I'm looking for a game that isn't Wurm Unlimited but scratches the same itch (and absolutely NOT Wurm Online), but for now I've really been digging being back in my old stomping grounds, even if it does feel lonely. Aside from that, I run a game and a half of Pathfinder 2nd Ed on weekends, watch Sci Fi and Fantasy shows and movies, and hang out with my kids and my wife.
I guess I should mention my "RP" pedigree, too. Aside from getting into table top RPGs when I was a kid, I got lost in AOL's chat-based RP starting around '97-98, and have RP'd in basically every MMO I tried since then. My favorites for RP would definitely be Ultima Online, City of Heroes and Star Wars Galaxies. My alter-ego (mentioned below) has made an appearance in 2 out of those 3, but in SWG I played a Wookiee Ranger named Daracca, and loved the hell out of it.
At the moment I've got 5 characters and roleplay to greater or lesser extent with all of them. More details can be found here, but my Main is and always will be Errant, a dimension-lost paladin who's making the best of his time in Paragon City. He's a broadsword/shield scrapper (used to be Invuln, but I'm digging shields) with teleportation and some healing 'magic'. Errant is my self-insert wish-fulfillment character, and I love playing and roleplaying as him.
