This is why I suggested that they be "unique-to-account" so, by definition, password protected. I imagine that it'd be possible to add a "shareable" click box to the file so it could be freely distributed. Then again, not being a coder, I can -imagine- quite a bit! 😛

I would like to see unique-to-account SG base files be storable locally, to be used on other servers; similar to the AE mission files. That is, assuming they aren't already.

Addendum: Suspecting that my main account was ::ahem:: "too large" to /ghide as described, I made a third account with two new characters; inviting it as global friend and then using /ghide on one of the new characters. Yes, /ghide did, indeed, globally hide both characters on the account with a single command, but failed when the account attempting to be hidden is larger than some unknown limit. Thanks to all for your help.

I just now checked this out, using my main account and my farmer on a second account. These accounts are global friends. Signed in a character on my main account, typed /ghide and was presented with the same hide options window that appears when accessed through the friends menu. Selected hiding from global friends and, as expected, was showing as not online on my farmer account global friends list. Signed that character out and came back in with a different character from my main account. The newly signed in character showed as online on my farmer account global friends list. My suggestion is that I would like to not have to globally hide characters on the same account individually, but hide all of them using a single function. I do see now how that wasn't made clear in my original post.

Yes. I've seen that one, although I've accessed it through the Global Friends list. It appears to be restricted to the character signed in, as opposed to the entire account. Thanks, though.
