Really?  I like the +Def from Energy Cloak on my EM/EA Brute, but I hate the stealth effect / not being able to see my costume cleanly.

That keeps me from choosing almost any of the stealthy stuff on scrappers.  I still end up going with the Stealth powers to avoid invisible costume.

however I am known to not pick the most powerful powers stuffs because I am a costume nerd.  Came to peace with my mid-tier player perma-status long ago

Thugs should be reformed and reintegrated into society. 🦸‍♀️

Which is what the Zig is for.  You know that the tight security measures they have in place will keep us safe from them until they have reformed.

it's not like low level criminals escape that place every day or anything

Yep, it's a bit tricky when you pick powers from another pool, it's a second click after you picked it. Fly is available at level 4, and any time after that when there is a power pick. The free fly does vanish after you've used it for a certain amount of time.

If you are level 10 you have a free respec so you can redo your power picks. Just type /respec and make sure you pick fly at level 4. Air superiority is a bit of a niche pick and it's very rarely chosen unless someone desperately wants group fly and doesn't want to take hover, a far more useful power in my opinion.

I now await all the people jumping on me to tell me Air superiority is fantastic and they consider it a must pick they can't live without 😛

I don't pick air super because it is a must pick but because i LOVE the animation.  It is fantastic and I waste a lot of hits on enemies just to watch them flop head over heels

As opposed to the PPD on guard at the gates in/out of hazard zones, whom you often have to grope in order to get the mouse click to register.

They always make me touch their ankles...odd kink

I love the city hall back door, use it all the time.

I have gotten locked inside of the bank mission style trucks twice in the last 5 years.  Both on red side.
(it is cozy and oddly comforting in there)

Why?  Because I missed you guys.  I like sharing my "wisdom" such as it is.

Where have I been?  Not far.  I game Fri and Sun Evenings with Justice Superteamers on Excelsior.  They run themed teams.  Excellent gamers.  I also run quite a bit solo.

My latest project?  An AR/Dev Blaster who is soloing every contact in the game.  Currently level 20, 789 badges.  According to city data terminal 624 missions completed, 2 failed.  753 merits, although i have 1221, which i assume the difference is giant monsters and zone badging, etc. enemies defeated 21,644.  theme is "little green army men" toon is Green Sarge on Excelsior.  yes, i shrank him with mini mode.  he is fun.  i think AR/Dev Blaster is probably one of the most efficient toons to do this type of project with.  i used to use Brutes.  yeesh.

Mostly I solo. although I have led a very few TF/SF.  The Posi One was...  a Posi One!  I held out zero hope of any coordination.  Much to my surprise, as we zone into the last mission a teammate (I am leading but saying very little) suggests we do not "rescue" the last hero until we clear around the front of city hall.  I get in team chat and say what a great idea this is.  i tell everyone what the plan is.  Then the shitheads saved everyone, the last guy was under the guy with one huge ball.  The pulled everyone AND two of them jumped to city hall front door immediately.  I ate inspirations, threw down caltrops, and thanked the stars I bought all the P2W grenades....   We made it.  Barely.  Oh, Posi One.  Always a weird run...

I used to get so frustrated with Posi 1.  I stopped leading it.  I stopped joining it.  I found it was one of the few TFs my baby toons could actually solo at +0.  I complained a lot to my friends and they said "why worry about the rules, just run it at +0 with the team and what's the worst that could happen"

+0 seems to be the trick.  Since we started that I have only had a few wipes and I lead this TF twice a week for years now.  If they pull extra groups..pop purps and make jokes and laugh.  I have only had wipes twice in the last two years.  we never intentionally clear the stairs, we wait to see what happens.

It has been my opinion for some time that the universe of City of Heroes (like many other MMOs) exists within a temporal anomaly that prevents standardized entropy, and as such, the perception of the forward movement of time. Certain powerful beings are partially immune to this, progressing forward themselves (gaining levels, acquiring badges, etc), and their immunity even extends outwards from them to a limited extent, allowing for the defeat of enemies in the nearby vicinity, yet also explaining how the same enemies will soon once again be trying to steal the same purses from the same civilians as if noting had happened. And even these powerful beings are only able to break through to forward movement in time for short periods, often remaining unknowingly static for short or even very long periods of time (among the lesser powered among them, they may remain dormant for so long they forget who they are, and when they become active again, may start going by a similar but different name (or even a very different name). Certain events seem to come and go, often coinciding with their thematic counterparts in real life, though rarely for the same precise amount of time. But even as they come and go and even return the following year, they are usually just a repeat of the previous year, soon to end and be forgotten by the world at large until they return yet again, likely with few changes, if any at all.

Talos Island [-5077.6 32.0 5831.7]  (cave door with close shrubbery up against the eastern war wall)  -  The shrubbery up close to the cave door caused multiple snares to our team, once when using a team transport to reach the cave, and once upon exiting the cave.  Each time the game funneled all the team into the same spot to a viewer's left as they face the cave.  Some characters were able to escape, a couple had to be teleported out.

EDIT: Not sure if it matters, but this was associated with a Citadel TF final mission.

  9. Sounds like Snarky Entanglement.  Snarky is both rich and poor until he leaves the base and we can measure it.  Or Snarky's Cat,  a famous thought experiment that demonstrates the idea in quantum physics that Snarky's particles can be in two states at once until they're observed after leaving a base.  Snarky is both alive and dead

  10. I only run into a problem if I use the mail while in a base.  There are times I would email myself money and it would be in some global queue.  I could resolve it by simply sending myself another email outside of base but it did spook me as I had switched characters one time and didn't notice the issue for a few days
