I am taking massive damage on all my toons with 90% resist after this patch, I not sure what I am missing and hope someone could help me

Looking for advice. My brother made a savage/regen brute and I was wondering how high can he get his resist up or what would be the strengths of this set or could he solo farm +4 whatever? I Googled for awhile bu couldn't find anything useful
